If your car has navigation or OnStar or any other device that reaches out to somewhere else, it can be tracked. That constitutes the majority of new vehicles nowadays.

My girlfriend uses progressive. The device is only plugged into your car for a short time span. Its been a while back, but I think it was something like 1-3 months. I think they said it keeps track of heavy braking and acceleration, and other nonsense. But, in the end, she got something like a 30-40% drop in her rates after the period.

Actually, you pay more because of uninsured motorists..typically the highest rates are in the states with highest uninsured to insured ratio.

You know as a software engineer that lifts data for money it's that other nonsense that gets to me. Then again I have the tools to decode that nonsense and what sense it makes to me concerned me greatly. Especially when you consider collateral database base matching/mining that's going on. The problem is you guys don't see it because it's coming at you from several discreet locations.

Ah well as long as you have nothing to hide eh? LOL Anyway enjoy the bargain because it really doesn't matter we are all rolled up and owned anyway. Oh and wait until you see what OBD-III rolls out....

You pulled that statistic from your ass. And it's not accurate. Massachusetts has one of the highest auto insurance rates in the nation and we have one of the lowest uninsured motorists rates, something like 5 or 6%. And last time I checked, nationwide, uninsured motorists percentage as a whole is something like 14% or so.

You are being lied to by your insurance company.

I may be mistaken, but Im not sure collateral database mining and analysis has anything to do with motor vehicles, rather with felonious crimes.
