What if my girl is already in her 15 gal pot? Can I sprinkle some Dolomite on top or would you recommend another method? Thanks!
I have done this but spiking is my preferred method once a plant is established . If you sprinkle it on top be sure to work it into the soil though or else it will cake up when adding water and become an eyesore more than anything .

for those googling in the future and stumble upon this thread. the problem ended up being not watering for run off. I would water just enough to not have run off b/c i was getting lazy. salt build up resulted and in turn destroyed all my plants. since this revelation and since watering with 20% run off, all plants are operating at 100%. thanks for those who chimed in with suggestions and comments.

If you ever want to explore the ROLS soil method, lemme know. Save operating cost, remove the problems (by and large) and really increase the quality of the soil.

Add the minerals correctly when you first build the soil, and all you need to add is rainwater, RO water, or reasonably soft de-chlorinated tap water. I would agree, amending with materials that are found in mortar can be troublesome. Amend with your own vermicompost and your plant will reward you.
