Go to a "Dollar Store", get some Orange Based multi cleaner, mix with water, as you would do to make dish soap and 1.) pour around the area, but do not allow it to reach root system. If In buckets, set bucket in 3" of the solution, which will stop ants from entering into the drain holes, and floods the area when watering without hurting the root system. For Slugs, buy "sluggo" If you got slugs, it sounds like there is a lot of moisture build up. Mold & fungi will kill your Babies. Soak whole ground cornmeal in warm water for 24 hrs, strain & pour on your plant soil. This will kill mold & fert your plants.

Another good method is you take beer cans and cut the top off, leaving an inch of beer in the bottom. The slugs will love this smell, Crawl into the beer and drown. Bury the cans so just tghe top is open. Like a hole. Does 3-4 around your plant. ive never done this, but i know people that do.

they like the yeast in it .. it worked in my regular garden

I use "Slugger" micro traps. These are great.....They are identical to a bear trap but only about the size of a dime. It is set just the same as a bear trap but you use toothpicks as stakes for them so the slugs/snails don't slither away with them. Great investment!!! Pick them up at Wal-Mart, K-mart, etc.lol

This is working for me: I poured sand about 4-5" around my containers & it work. They don't like the rough texture on their skin.

I'd imagine slugs would need solid ground to move on. Because of the way they move. So sand probably would work. Or egg shells

or shards of glass! .. i made some copper rings to put around base of plants .. that wont harm it will it?

I havent had any problems yet. Make sure its not cutting into the stock and it shouuld be fine. I used tinfoil first, just to avoid this

And, no matter what size your plant is the slugs can still do harm. But, the bigger your plant is Your chances of it getting destroyed get alot less. Chances are the slugs will only eat a few leaves. But. Who the hell wants that.

I HAD 10 plants and they were about a foot tall. I left them for 4 days and i came back it it was nothing except the stock and veins to leaves on the plant. There was slugs all over the plants. that shit pissed me off real bad.

Slugs lot of easy solutions! Sprinkle some DE around your plants or take some beer and put it in a shallow container near your plant and the slugs will die happy. Or if you want to shock them use a thin piece of copper they can't go over it! Or my favorite is to make a toad house and watch him eat all the bugs!

hehe a box turtle I don't know actually I just know that my garden toad eats everything and he really likes slugs
