Yes about half the plants this run are in regular formula original super soil and the rest are in a modified version i made... but it's obvious from just the first few weeks of flower that original super soil kicks my modified one's ass (the Aces are all in super soil and all have bigger buds than the rest whether LED or HPS). This'll be the last one I expiriment too much my 2 cans of soil brewing now are all original super soil.
So I got 2z/plant average last time with 3z the biggest under 240w LEDs (that are really only 135ws effective) using a thrown together at the last minute modified super soil formula, with mostly smaller pots and less veg/rooting time... also last run from seed not clone and starting smaller in flower compared to this run... and I harvested most of them before they were 'done', although they were all done enough, would've just been better with longer. my 600w buds are already twice as big/dense at 3 weeks as my LEDs from this/last run... and i'm getting ready to put in that 1K and concentrate the LEDs over the remaining plants...
Shall we start taking yield bets?
The goal is 4z/plant average. I'll be happy with 3, but 4'd be a LOT better. I don't see how I don't do at least 3 unless I run into some major issue... oh and these buds are twice as big already, but I haven't even turned on the co2 yet! (have issues with my regulator, taking the tank to the store tomorrow w/ regulator attached so they can help me figure out wtf is going on because i bought a new regulator and it's doing the same damn thing!) I just want my co2 damnit!

Got 6 ace of spades females... 2 tall jack doms, 2 short bcs doms, and 2 in betweens. pretty similar to last time I grew'em it seems from 10 you'll get one or two of the mom, one or two of dad and some in betweens
Yeah they're 5 gallon airpots the yield potential on them should be 7.5zips... they can yield up to 50% more than the same size normal pot. I got over 4z in a 2.4 gallon first run (under LEDs!) with them and 3z in a 2.4 gallon last time (also under LEDs). You need to let them really root in and get the roots developed by first week of flower to get the big yields... transplanting'em right before flower won't do. I also only get close to the max yields running super soil. So I'm REAL curious to see what the 600w and 1000w can do for these girls that are well rooted into 5 gallon pots. It could be pretty epic we'll just have to see how things go I've learned not to count those chickens before they're hatched especially after the grow from hell.
Classic stoner move. Got home, took the old lights down and put the new hood up, went to plug the reflector into the ballast and it's not the same style of connector. UGH. So now about 4'x4' of plants are only getting sandwich sidelighting between the 600w on one end and the 720w of LEDs on the other. On the bright side, these came in the mail.
On the bright side, the 3 LEDs on the end now (720w) are SATURATING the plants on the end now -- they have no lack of light and I have no doubt results will equal the 600w or surpass it (even though effective wattage is really only about 435w-460w). Same for the closet ones now that they will have 3 instead of two lights. They'll be very happy The density they were at before was too spread out for the results I'm looking for. They are now 3 lights over about 2'x4' for both the end of the cab and the closet -- which at effective wattage is over 50w/ft2 -- with 2 per 2x4' it's less than 50w/ft2.
The TW-14 under the HPS is loving being bumped up to right under the light... the top of the cola has visibly chunked up since last night when I watered it.
I'm conflicted about whether to put TW-14 in the closet with the LEDs or under the 1K hps. I'm curious to see how it would finish under 3 LEDs vs the 600w... but I'm sure I'd be sacrificing yield compared to under the 1000w

No I bought another regulator and it did the same damn thing. WTF! It's gotta be the tank somehow... but i'm taking the tank w/ regulator on it and the other regulator down there tomorrow to see if they might be able to tell me what is going on... with that 1K in there coming on tomorrow I'm definitely gonna be wanting some extra co2

Yeah they were pretty cool offered to send my old regulator in to get it serviced even though I didn't get it there, so either there's something wrong with both and they'll both get fixed (unlikely) or i'm doing something wrong/there's an issue with that tank... i've never had a problem like this before the whole last run I used CO2... i wouldn't think it's the tank normally but how to explain a brand new regulator doing the exact same thing? But yeah I will have a backup... and really if I got another tank I could run two tanks, too I think one tank is not even meant for as large of a room as I'm going to be running it in.

GRRRR!!!!! So I just go up there to film the startup... but the 1k doesn't start up... took a few secs to realize the ballast wasn't running. Built in circuit interrupter on the ballast is tripped... so I try again, try a different cord, try multiple different outlets in different rooms... every time I reset the circuit it resets almost instantly. The joy of buying used. I should've made sure they powered it up before I brought it home... now I gotta wait til they reopen at noon tomorrow to go get it sorted out... UGH!

That sucks alot i learned that lesson with working on cars and u go all the way to the part store and get the part go all the way home and relize its the wrong part, i dont do that shit no more

Yeah well something appears to be up with that ballast.. so i had the idea to plug it directly into the wall (even though i don't know any reason why my high amperage heavy duty construction grade extension couldn't handle it...)... so as soon as I did (on same one as the 600) it tripped the circuit... i unplugged the 600 but not the 1000, went down and tried to reset the breaker... it would not let me do it while the thing was plugged in! and there's nothing else that i'm aware of on the same circuit that's on... the lights for the room are on a separate circuit that didn't get hit, and everything else was plugged into the grow room and didn't go off including ac... strange... anyway, I did take some pics while it was lights up but with no lights due to waiting for the 600 to cool down before restart.
is it possible my normal house electric isn't capable of plugging in one 1000w light anywhere in this house without some kind of upgrade??? wtf
