I would recommend trimming some of those lower yellow leaves, to direct more energy up, and do some LST on it..
Hi C2Jersey, thanks for commenting! I am going to LST the 2 small side branches to see if I can get some shoots from those long stems. The 2 main colas are very stiff, I haven't decided yet if I will supercrop. The way it split into two stems makes it so that if I LST them, they will snap at that split badly. I already tugged ever so slightly at it was cracking so LST will be difficult there.

8 days from cutting

Damn am I a lucky SOB! I checked after work and there were thick roots coming out of my jiffy puck sides and bottom 8 days after snipping it from my plant!? I can't believe it. Literally. So I have mixed vermiculite into my potting mix, and planted it.

I'm still in shock.

That is great. I trimmed some of the lower stuff from mine last night. I was tired since I just flew into town and been gone all week so I didn't feel like keeping the trimmings to make clones and just tossed them, but I should have just thrown them in a solo cup with water to see what happened. Your looking great, keep up the good work.

If the branches are stiff, (sounds gay but) play with them for a few minutes lightly moving them around. Generally this will allow for some play in them, and may allow to to move them in the way you want. Another way I recently tried on my Kandy Kush clone was, I used a few long ass chop sticks and maneuvered the branches with them and stuck the chops sticks in the soil for about 3 days. After 3 days the branches started to curve around the sticks and reach for the light(sunlight outdoor grow) and that enabled me to tie them down with some thin string.

I know the feeling hbbum being tired, it's not the end of the world you didn't plant the trim but for sure why not next time. Personally I did it purely as a learning experience.. And in case I screw up the main plant. I have no access to seeds. It is why I am being so cautious so far researching other people's posts to learn non stop and hoping for female.

C2Jersey I am going to practice and learn LST on the clone for sure now as a project, I think that's a better option than messing around too much with the nearing flowering plant in veg. Will do light LST on the main one. I appreciate the tips! TY

I dont have much room anyway, right now I am using my little cabinet I would use for flowering to store bud, so I would need to do some reorganizing if I wanted to bring up some clones. One of the draw backs of running small and stealthy. I just flipped my strawberry dream to 12-12 last night because I do not really have any room horizontally for her to fill out. Time for the stretch :)

Day 54- A tentative start to Preflower?

I have been waiting, watching. Have been thankful for well wishes from growers in this thread wishing along with me, for a female.. I believe some pre-flower has started to happen.

I see stuff at the upper nodes, the faint tulip shapes maybe, but so far I can only make out what looks like a single white hair from these things. Not the tell tale signs of 2, one maybe I thought I could make out 2.. But they are so short, so faint it is hard yet to tell and my imagination is vivid. Then again, the 'male' crab claw shape I have read about freaks me out too. Maybe these are little crab claws, can't tell yet but one thing is for sure.. No balls yet.

Sorry these are so sucktastic images, I tried hard w/ my phone. The camera will charge though today that I can assure you!

IMG_0802.JPG | IMG_0818.JPG

Hopefully I will see better evidence and a real pistil burst from the nodes in the next few days and then celebrate, come on babe.. You can do it :)

Welcome to RIU!

What kind of soil are you in there? Have you done any research on nutrients or feeding cycles? Sounds like you have a nice light setup with the sun, but do some homework on feeding.

Also, get a pH tester and learn how to keep pH in balance for watering soil. This is critically important.

Happy growing!

Testing ph in soil is not critical...I've went entire grows start to finish in soil without ever phing the soil or water going into it. If it here hydro then yes ph it..

I've started initial prepping of my area. 1st the vents, one intake for the cooltube 600 (175 CFM).
IMG_0840.JPG

A larger fan (200 CFM) for cooling intake to the 4x5 area. There should be plenty of air in general as there's always fresh air on this indoor balcony.
IMG_0839.JPG[

Testing the size before painting the outside cardboard to match the exterior, and then will come duct tape..
IMG_0841.JPG

A shot of my clone which is doing well, now just temporarily under an 80 watt CFL to supplement the day's sun until things are ready.
IMG_0842.jpg

Both the fans will be ducted tomorrow, plenty of work to do, excited!

Thanks hbbum.. No real change yet. I think there are flowers starting in a lot of places, but I can only spot one with what looks like a pistil hair.. So still too early I guess. But I'll get some up in the next day or so :)

Day 58

I'm pretty sure I see pistils on my plant and in these images, It is still hard to tell because they are at the top where the new growth is, so this can always be mistaken for new leaves and stuff. But I am feeling very positive! Looking forward to more signs.

IMG_1189.JPG | IMG_1201.jpg | IMG_1204.jpg | IMG_1205.JPG | IMG_1209.jpg

Still working on my area, still losing leaves at the bottom which has almost nothing left down there and growth has slowed. I figure heat stress.

Last transplant.. Day 61

My plant has really become huge, beyond my wildest expectations for my 1st test grow. With the sex determined 100% (all the tulips have exploded and are now showing 2 hairs) it is time to bring vegetative to a close. I will transplant this last time to a final large container and give 2 weeks of final veg testing in the new area.

IMG_1210.jpg | IMG_1211.jpg

It is too large to continue with the outdoor sun. This will give me the opportunity to also cut a 2nd clone and get comfortable using a light before flower time. Temperatures will be a serious concern as I cannot bring things cooler than the actual outdoor temps so I will be growing in the 88-92 range mostly, but so far so good other than a little heat stress.

Wow this is a good feeling. Day 63.

My plans to veg for another week or two in the indoor area have been altered due to circumstance, I set my light at 13 hours and in 2 days some miraculous stuff has gone on, I've got buds! Everywhere :hump:

Cola 1
IMG_1213.jpg
Cola 2
IMG_1215.jpg

Unbelievable! I feel like I gave birth! There's bud sites starting below too..

IMG_1218.jpg

and even on the 2 little side stems/ shoots

IMG_1214.jpg

Obviously, I cannot mess around and start screwing things up playing with the hours, it is 12/12 from this point on. I Just transplanted 2 days ago, <- less than ideal.. my plans have been chucked in the trash bin. Oh well, a week ago I was still worrying if I had a male.. Things change, sometimes for the better! :)

IMG_1219.jpg

Area update, it's hot in there. 30C+. If I keep the area closed, it hits 34-35C! Wowza. Surprisingly the leafs are not as v-shaped up as they were getting in the sun!? Which is mighty confusing, seems like there's less heat stress despite the sweltering temps? That makes no sense. Guess 200 CFM air I am venting in is helping. Cooltube is running fully closed system, this has helped A LOT. It only raises temps 3C. I'm trying to keep the black plastic open a bit to let the builtup heat escape during day period.

Happy camper.

Looking great, plants can deal with higher temps with more fresh air, that is why outdoors plants can deal with much higher temps than a completely indoor grow (no c02 added) grow. Keep giving them fresh air while it is hotter outside and they will be fine.

Great job so far Holylander.
