Induction Lights? The newest (supposedly) technology in Induction Grow Lights

I heard the same thing through my grow shop that Phillips is discontinuing CMH production but I don't take that as gospel. If I had converted to CMH I'd be pissed though.

Damn those are some old school strains bro! Neville to the rescue! The hash plant was one of my all time favorites.

Yep , Riant will repair an send it back free, I just have to get it there.

I have 2 surge protectors, an it still died.
i need an somthing to protect aginst low voltage?

im using my old Hps/CMH set up, the heat differance is wild.

i hear Phillips is discontinuing. Chm bulbs?

Get a ups. Uninterrupted power supply. If the power goes out. It keeps what ever is plugged into it running for 30 -90 min depending on power draw. It gives you enough time to shut everything off without any surge issues.

Philips discontinued the retro white cmh. They have plenty in stock still. They are still making the allstart line. Which is far better anyway.

Plus the fairly new company Dna lighting. Their bulbs are Philips all starts rebranded. So Id imagine that would be around for a while. The cmh craze has made a come back too.

Hyroot is right in that a UPS is a good way to clean up the sine wave on any electronics to be sure. It's also gonna get you through the brown outs and short term outages, If you can afford them then by all means get them on circuits where you have critical equipment.

But before you lay down that kind of coin I would have thought that with two surge suppressors in line you would have been covered from spikes. Did you have any other electronics burn up during that time? Were those protected by surge suppressors as well? Then I can it would be related to a really horrible spike. But if no other electronics burned up I'd look at the thermal management of the enclosure construction. Alot of the times they won't use thermal pads or they may have painted the inside of the enclosure at the factory which greatly reduces thermal transfer from the board and you'll get component failures. If you're running a few of these you might want to open up the driver housings and check for non-painted surfaces on the inside of the enclosure.

Now that you mention it....
It was the only thing damaged?

My ballast still has paint on the inside an behind the MOSFETs
But I have the case open 1/2 in and a fan on it cause you warned me about that.
I'll ask tony Wu to not paint the inside of this ballast.

The surge potectors are very old metal ones from the 80s
They don't have a reset button like modern ones.
Not realy sure how they work?
Maybe ill get a new one. Lol
Would UPS for PCs work for this lamp

S1 an f1 will be made from the old nev stuff.

Paint is the enemy my friend. Why pray tell are they painting the inside of the enclosures? You should not have to resort to opening their enclosure and having a fan blow air over the board. It's either slipping past quality control or they don't realize the importance of thermal relief and just load the boards to painted surfaces. Either way could be trouble when you least want it. But on the bright side you don't have to worry about buying a UPS. And I am interested....check your pm

I've read the last 25 pages, great stuff guys. I currently have a 400 watt cmh from Phillips that i love. Might make the Inda-go jump. Or maybe give DNA a go? Any comparisons of a 400 cmh vs Inda-grow out there?

I ran 150w hps, 145w cmh and 2 40w cfl in my cab.
It was about 400w
(not 400w vs 145w)

And my 400w flouro owned the old set up.

id love to run her against 330w CMH.
Id bet on the induction flouro..

Hey Scar! Going to the other side are ya? Not that I'm coming off IG's but after having been to their site I guess my question would be if this 4K SDG is accurate why than make a 6 and 10K MH at all?

http://www.solis-tek.com/digital-lamps/mh4k.html
good question chaz, ugh these companies with their technical BS.......lol suns high frequency light output replicated by a digi ballast?

Personally I would never use an unprotected mh bulb indoors.......

I'd guess the 6000k is for veg.
and the 10000k is for aquariums?

never heard of a MH that was so red.
their spectra seems to good to be true?

I concur with psu. All the solis tek bulbs put out uv too. But the glass on a hood or cool tube block out uv so. I know hello lights carries the 10k for aquariums.. Ironically the 10k has more red than the 6k.

Im diggin cmh allstart myself. Going to b adding 2 more finally. Going to be doing bare bulb vert when I add them. Instead of adding side lighting.

After some looking around, I believe all digi ballasts are high frequency.

The sun dosent require a high freq ballast for hydrogen helium fission, it was ignited by gravity.
Not sure what that was about?
Lol

Since they offer no info on additional elements or gasses added for a better specta I'd say its BS.

I ordered 6 retro white 400's to hold me over until I upgrade to the 315's and rec'd them in 2 days from ATL
They also sent me this awesome info on a MOGUL BASE 315 and the Philips Ballast for the 315-210

That is less than 1/2 the cost for the inferior DNA Chinese Manufactured Ballast which is GEL. These are the PHILIPS Ballast specifically for these lamps, and will carry and be honored with the Philips warranty which will be void if run on the DNA. GEL, DNA, and some Electrical Supply house all share the same address in Idaho.

Hope it helps. Sure is a good deal for the lamp and Philips ballast and you can continue to use your same hoods and sockets.

As I have years of stock left in retro whites and my mag coil ballasts are only one year old it will be a while before I upgrade so just wanted to pass on what I see comparatively as a great deal on the new lamps and ballast.

And the spds are great on these as well....great umoles for only 315 watts

Wait a minute, what the hell do the 930-942 #'s mean??????? ^^^their both 4200k, never got this option when I purchased mine and you definitely want the ?942? version looking at the charts............

Problem is Kite......... I was told by a couple of growers now that that vendor is shit^^ and the 210w bulb seems to have the best spectral distribution for cannabis! huh, small stealth growers rejoice!!:p

Another Induction company surfaces http://www.shop.parluxcorporation.com/main.sc 800w for $900 not bad, but look rebranded :p
