I would be inclined to agree with you if we were on the subject of pruning fan leaves, since they are responsible for creating energy for the plants. However, sucker branches are a different story.The only thing lollypoping does is decrease your yield.
More leaves means more energy means more buds.
If a plant wasn't utilizing a leaf the leaf will die on its own.
Those little branches use such small amounts of nutrients. The intake of water and nutrients is based on the number of leaves.
Personally I like the small nugs they make great hash and or edibles.
I don't have any experience but I just got back inside from cutting all those spindly low leggy long branches for the same reasons you stated aboveI have searched and really cant find a solid answer about lollipopping outdoors. I want to do it cause to be honest I don't want to deal with all the pop corn nugs and I also want to increase yield on my Top Colas. Does any one have exp lollipopping your plant outdoors if so how did it go and was it worth it? If any one has pics that would be awesome.
