i liked the blue widow big fat colas on a tall plant with ok yield very pretty and medium strength my screen pic is blue widow

Correct about the fat colas. Mine was soo frosty

if you mean topping your plant yah it works pretty good way more buds thats for sure

The only thing lollypoping does is decrease your yield.

More leaves means more energy means more buds.

If a plant wasn't utilizing a leaf the leaf will die on its own.

I would be inclined to agree with you if we were on the subject of pruning fan leaves, since they are responsible for creating energy for the plants. However, sucker branches are a different story.

Those small, scraggly lower branches do nothing but rob the plant of energy that could better be used in other areas. Does it necessarily increase yield to the tops? I'm not sure as I haven't done a side by side comparison.

I do know that I'd rather take the chance than deal with a bunch of low quality, dime sized popcorn nugs that aren't worth trimming. Apple orchards have used this same principle for years to distribute the energy to the fruits.

Something to think about.

Those little branches use such small amounts of nutrients. The intake of water and nutrients is based on the number of leaves.

Personally I like the small nugs they make great hash and or edibles.

Making hash out of the popcorn nugs don't sound bad. I want to have some hash oil for my vap pen.

I like big buds and it seems to work for me so I keep doing it.

as I think back on my last years grow, I do think it would help to do some cleaning on the inside of the plant. some branches dont get any light at all & then die off or stay small as fuck so y not cut them off now? but i would only do the inside and then wait till flowering & anything that i cant keep off the ground can go, but if the branch has reached the outside & is gettin all the light then let it b. I went out a few days ago and did a lil work!

I don't have any experience but I just got back inside from cutting all those spindly low leggy long branches for the same reasons you stated above

I trim this much. Imo, the good stuff happens at the top of the plant.
