No not at all, but that's a long way from advocating vigilantism. The police are a product of us. We hire them, buy them uniforms, train them, pay them, & set their rules of engagement. Just like our military......then we bitch about what they are doing. There are asshole cops out there just like there's asshole bartenders, cab drivers. The police work for us, we make the laws. Nobody likes to see a police car in the rear view mirror......but we expect them to be there within 1 min if we dial 911........

Never had an experience with police where they abused their power or acted out of line, and ive had more encounters with them than I care to count. They also got my pokemon cards back for me when they were stolen as a kid

I'm a firm believer in Cameras. I believe they helped keep me alive for 25 years in Folsom prison. There were 3 inmates stabbed in the first 2 years I worked inside the license plate factory, 2 died. About the 3rd year they installed cameras........we never had another stabbing (inside the factory) where there are cameras...... When I got stabbed, it was in a small side warehouse without cameras. If it wasn't for an inmate going for help, I wouldn't be here today.............the inmate that went for help, was my leadman & one of the original founders of the Crips. Cameras save lives........

I haven't had too many encounters with the police, not counting my ex-wife. But the few traffic stops I've been involved in sucked. Flat out wrong on the law in 2 out of 3 stops.

Despite that, there are plenty of good cops out there. This happened in my hometown not too long ago:

Let me check your Folsom story with some family... I do know the cameras, though. They sure as fuck used to "act up" when COs beat the piss outta inmates. I remember one case, though. Dude in a supermax was in court before me. He got in a fight in the chow line. Hits dude, dude drops, he drops to his knees as guards rush in. They beat him for about 30 seconds, but the security cam in the chow hall was acting up. Cut to cell block, where beaten and bleading inmate gasps for air and coughs out the blood he just inhaled. He's in court for 3 1st degree assault with a biological weapons charges. They said he "coughed with intent." The judge looked at the guy, a couple months later (outta seg) he's still marked up, swollen, his shit's wired shut, nose is stitched half balk on, same with ear. Says that the charges are dismissed, as is the employment of said guards, and if the video tape isn't found, the warden may be looking at evidence suppression charges. This is what you call a good fuckin' day for the next con in line. I walked ROR, 6 felonies.
