light = $ not plant #. its not easy to get the capital up to buy in to the game at 6K watts of HID and two rooms. most of us had to start with 400 watts in our closet and expand a little at at time with 6K+ competition out there its hard for a pimp on the way up. I rolled self sufficient for 7-8 years with 400 watts and have been moving up since this medical bullshit started up and I'm only at 3600 watts now. I can finally compete with weighty wholesale prices and hold my own on my way to 6K watts. long road....

Ya that's the way I started 2 100watters some cfls fans, what I like to call my ghetto grow everything was rigged when I first started now im up to 16 thousand watts 4 rooms on a 30 day rotation so I harvest once a month, im not making a killing off this I give away a lot to my patients but do make a decent wage for time, already owned all my stuff(cars,house ect) so this is just for my pleasure, helping some hardcore patients that really need this stuff and pocket money. otherwise overages go to a disp for me.

The law was never designed for caregivers to "Make a living", it was designed to put the plant in the hands of patients that need it.

I moved here from a state in the south that likes to lock people up for 3-5 for growing a few plants, so unlike the whiners who "just can't make a living", I thoroughly appreciate the fact that I can legally grow 12 plants without the concern of my door being kicked down by a paramilitary narcotics hit squad. If you can't simply appreciate the fact that the plant is more free in the state of michigan than it has in over 70 years, I suggest you pack up, move south, and learn all you can about growing coca and processing it into cocaine...I hear there's good money in that.

Wow kind of harsh don't you think, yes as the law was written you are not supposed to make a ton of money, but if that's your personal case and you make money and patients are happy why does it matter if you make money also good for you I say, all cases are different ive had a job for 30 years and now I wouldn't mind relaxing and make some money doing what I like. so then why couldn't someone make a living of this?

Johnny, you're making it work for you as a patient who can do for yourself. That's great, but you're a minority buddy. seems you're willing to throw away the health of patients to keep people from making an honest living doing honest work. I would put growing pot way ahead of telemarketing, cigarette packaging, liquor production and beer distribution on my list of honest work honest pay good for the world jobs. I worked in the pharma animal testing game for over 10 years, I am sure I am doing mankind more good making money on pot growing then that previous occupation and I know I'm helping the animal world by abstaining from the job I used to do. I'm also doing myself good for not doing that job anymore. My patients are happy, and learning to grow their own meds from me as we work together, the 2 that can do it (the others I help are apartment dwellers and people who have NO interest in plants). I despise the phrase "get a fucking job" so much I want to puke. usually comes from older racist types who have lots of prejudice and a narrow view of the world-everyone without a job is a loser, right? Afraid to get their hands dirty and work? I call bullshit, A) this is hard work Johnny, I've seen your journal posts, you HAVE to know this is work and stressful. B) any talented person should be rewarded for their labors. C) please NEVER compare cocaine with pot: apples and atom bombs brother.

Nobody has a problem with people growing pot and making a living, people have a problem with individuals that are shit at what they do and then bitch to the rest of us how things are unfair when they can't make any cheddar. If you treat this as a business and then complain how you can't make it, maybe such an individual should start selling steak knives door to door. The rest of us will continue with what we do.

I wasn't defending the guy who started the thread. I think it's pathetic as much as all of you do. And yes lots of people don't want to see anyone make money from growing. Maybe not you guys who post on here frequently, but they are out there believe me.

The funny thing is that with the right changes to the law patients could get much better prices and growers could make a decent living. Sadly though I don't see things changing for the better in the near future.
