I am not one to dog on people....but this is horrible dude....buds looks like they could have been nice and frosty but your growing all that bud under one light? Have you read anything!?!?!?! I have two small plants under TWELVE cfls....read next time you just wasted weeeeeeeeeks by not spending a few bucks on more lights

I think its cool that you wanted to try a scrog but its a shame you didn't use a more powerful light. You will be very disappointed in the final yield I think.

I just scroged the plant out its just one plant and a small clone the buds are buds that were on the plant when it was cut at clone they just continued to grow i think it was caused by shadowing from the above growth, the small clone in there never re-veged its just kept flowering so I let it do its thing. for the space and size a 250w 6500k cfl is more than enough to veg when i switch to flower i will add another 2 250w 2400k bulbs for maximum yeild. But being my first grow I'm going more fore seeing what kind of quality i can produce not the quantity. Tho i believe adding more light for flower shud balance it out i just may need to veg longer than id want.

But I guess I should have gave a breif description of what I have going on so for the record I'm running an estimated '3x'2x'3.5 grow box. The box is lined with mylar I know so many better choices, it's fitted with a 12" intake fan and open concept exhaust I have a 250w 6500k daylight CFL veging the the box, there are 2 plants in the box at this time both are OG#18 clones.

One plant is about 6-7 inches tall and never re-veged it has 4 small buds on it that just keep growing it's very frosty as you can see it smells amazing has no branching just the main stem. The other plant is stretched out filling out the box under the screen, it's been under the screen for about a week as I noticed buds forming on lower growth of the plant I assume the tops were blocking the light causing part of the plant to think it's time to flower.

The day before/day I switch the light cycle I will be adding 2 more lights ether 150w or 250w 2400k cfls bringing the wattage up to 550w-750w. To maximize yield as well as cannabinoid production I'm not growing with intentions on a giant harvest or anything of that nature, I decided to start a basic grow on a budget to see if I could grow some high quality cannabis if I harvest a ounce I'm happy.

For me it's all about the learning process I enjoy learning the art form itself it's not about having the most expensive setup or the best equipment it's about doing the best you can with what you have and gaining valuable information along the way.

Awesome description, I wish others would do likewise.

That said, your issue is lighting. WTF are you doing with 750 watts in CFL? Seriously? You would get more useable light from a 250w HPS. You're kicking your own ass here man. Not to be a dick, but you need to slow down on what you think you know, so that you can realize what it is you're doing. Please don't take it wrong, but you're working against yourself, mainly because you're at the point where, as they say, " a litle knowledge is a dangerous thing".

Take a couple steps back, look at what you have, what you are doing, figure out what you want to do, and we will be more than happy to help you get there. I love to help people, because I need the help from time to time. Makes me feel good to pay it back. I'm no expert on growing weed, I don't pretend to be.

I have a 400w ballast already, Im just waiting to get a tent because it would cook my plants in the small space i have. I understand exactly what your saying Id rather be running MH and HPS but my current budget and space wont allow for it so I'm running CFL at the moment my next grow I intend on stepping up and running a tent grow in a larger area so i can run my 400w set up with a ebb and flow table. I figure Im better off getting used to checking my plants daily and completing a grow front to back then going all out on something I cant really afford and screw up. Other than the lighting is there any other issues that you can see or other tips?

Basically right now I'm at a stage where I'm just making the most of what I got, my plant reached a point where it started to flower weather it be from uneven lighting or from some sort of stress I attempted to scrog it down so the lights even across the canopy but its continuing to throw pistols and the lower growth that started to flower has started to stack into small buds.

I've been looking carefully for male flowers in case it was a form of stress but still haven't seen any. Ive added in the 2 2400k bulbs to increase the spectrum and over all light, and will soon be flipping to 12/12 after a day of dark as I don't want to loose the buds that have started to form and feel just moving forward is my best bet.

Any thoughts you may have or tips that could help would be greatly appreciated I will upload new pictures in the afternoon

Are you using the true watts when you say a 250 watt cfl? How many watts does the bulb consume, 30?

i only ask because if they are really 250 I would like to know where you got em.

I just want to help you out . Heat will always be something to be dealt with in a grow. Use the 400, get a bulb and consider a cool tube. Or make one. Im running a 600HPS about 6" from my tops with a bare bulb.

oh for sure right now its just a waiting game trying to get enough money together to invest on a proper set up but right now its a lot of money to invest because my cost of living is pretty high

Thanks man I appreciate the input, for the most part that's what Ive been doing i obtained most of my stuff from a friend who used to grow but ran into some legal trouble. He actually gave me most of it for free I have his light a 400w industrial high bay light ballast combo deal and a 3 foot table i just need to pick up some bulbs and the more expensive parts for the ebb and flow set up (pump, res, tubing, fittings and a timer)

I just took 2 sets of new pics one set the other night after i added the 2400k bulbs into my box and a set i just took today. I still havent switched to 12/12 but I added the bulbs anyways, the buds that formed early, ( I still don't know why its flowering under a veg cycle any ideas? ) are starting to look and smell real nice and a lot of the other tops have started to throw pistols as well.

I think I'm going to flip the cycle in the next few days because of all the pistol growth thoughts?
And any thoughts on the plant itself would be great...

Ahh, so it's a reveg? How long have you had 'em for now? That explains the light, at least. I think you've said almost 1000 words so far and they make a whole lot more sense than your first pictures :P

Don't flip yet, veg until that screen is really full and you have some healthy growth (you'll need more light once the hormones revert to vegetative needs, indicated by faster growth and more leaflets).

I already pretty much knew just from the description and the pictures of how much space you had that those are definitely not 250 actual watt cfls.

The pic above confirms it for sure.

They might be 250 equivalent watt cfls which comes out to 55 actual watts. They look a little bit small even for 55 actual watt cfls though.
