I know a few of you threw up when you saw those roots. Makes me sick every time I look at those pics too.
The happy part of the story is that that plant got some clones clipped off and put outside in April last year. They loved it outside:

Wise Mo!I am pretty sure VVB and WW are the same guy and only ever seem to talk about themselves or how they have a better way of doing whatever is the topic of the moment. I am not sure what their point is but it feels disruptive. The worst part about this is that sometimes I want to like their/his posts because they are interesting. I just don't want to support the negative behavior.
As for you Mr. Vega - I am not sure why Mike included you with them. Fluoros have their place just like LED, Plasma, HID... I think Mike just got disrupted by VVB and WW and you were collateral damage.
It is interesting that every time there is a shit storm on this thread it is because of WW and VVB. Are you paying attention mods?
Can we get back to growing medicine and sharing our love of growing?

I was thinking about buying some of those 30 foot long LED tapes they string around under kitchen cabinets and wrapping it around my plant to see if full coverage would make the plant explode with growth. You are already doing that with CFLs.
Nugbuckets uses fluoro tubes to veg his mainliners. I do not know if he has ever flowered under them.
I have two 36" HO T5s in my clone cabinet and they are enough to make my clones happy. They still like the sun better:

Hiya. Happy camper here. My card renewal for med weed came today with a TGA seed landing of Conspiracy Kush, Cheesequake, Mickey Kush, and Marionberry Kush. I googled Shovelhead kush, along with TGA Subcool and nothing came up. Does anyone know the parents, has some of these in testing and growing them out? Like the name but what's in the bag? Peace

I grew under cfl's for a good year or two, and after started using hps.
I think that it isn't the bud quality that makes cfl's less desirable as a lighting source. I think it's the yield coupled with long flowering times.
Every strain I grew back then added 2-3 weeks to any reported flowering time.
I grew those very same strains later (under an hps) with much quicker bud production/flowering times.
But, again this is all imo.
Quality bud is quality bud, and if your thc/cbd numbers are high, they are high. But personally, I would rather grow under an hps because sativa-doms take long enough as is...let alone under cfl lighting.
