Will do. Thanks. I am doing some LST with clones. Have not purchased seeds yet as I need to succeed at a harvest before picking out what I'd like for my needs. It's really interesting looking through these threads and seeing how well you guys are doing. I have an issue with fungas gnats in the veg room at the moment. My outside plant is 4 weeks into flower and has been easy to deal out outside.Grasshopper please follow my link in thread I will be updating often but my first attempt at main lining and relying on the lads in here to help me decide when to chop
I don't want to speak for nugs but I think the idea behind mainlining was for even distribution of plant resources. If you let a plant grow natural you will end up with a variety of buds, some large, some small, some dense, some fluffy depending on where it is on the plant and the size of the branch. You wont necessarily get a larger yield from mainlining but a more consistent type of yield,I think some here have even said they got close to the same yield when doing 8 or 16 but that can depend on many things like pot size and veg length and more. I like to mainline to 8 and every bud is great,no fluff of popcorn buds for hash. If you veg longer and use a large pot you can increase the yield from 8 to 16 but I think that's true normally. It also helps me by keeping the plant shorter for indoor growing and you can keep a even canopy with supercropping like a scrog. Your buds are more concentrated in a zone so your lighting can do a better job, with a tall plant you have to worry about penetration. You can also get better air circulation because you can arrange the mains for better air flow.Is there cons with mainlining to 32 colas per plant as apposed to the normal 8 colas outdoor? would you get 4x the bud growing a 32 cola plant? same amount per cola or would the colas be less dense? Im working on getting a 25'x20' grow area outdoors. If I were to mail line each plant how could I get the most from my space? 35 16cola plants would make 560 colas. or 20 32cola plants would make 640 colas. 35 32cola plants would make 1120 colas but i think that might be pushing it... i dont know. OR as many 8 cola plants as i can? Potted or In ground? These questions may have been asked and answered already but hey, take it easy. Im not that tech savvy and there is 317 pages. not quite sure how to narrow it down. thanks in advance for any help.
+ less trimming and they are very mobile it takes 2 months to flower so if you veg while flowering it adds no time having to veg longer because your flower room only opens up every 8 or 9 weeks. the first run is a little longer at 4 months but for me that is selection time and I run a bunch on a 1 month veg take clones and pick out my keepers by the end it's a 2 month cycle and we're offI don't want to speak for nugs but I think the idea behind mainlining was for even distribution of plant resources. Sorry to disagree but you should re-read the OP. He says it's a form of training and managing canopy and the manifold for equal energy distribution and here's a quote. The main purpose of mainlining is space its a way for people with limited space to get amazing results, he proves that large yields in small spaces are achievable

" I am all about an even canopy, of very similar sized stems, and colas.....like green lady soldiers lined up ready to kick ass and take names......no weak ones, no runts, no spindly ones.....just all solid and consistant......"
There are benefits such as height control but that doesn't seem to be his main focus.
I've read it and that's what may have started his experimenting but I think his quote at the beginning I think sums up what he thinks is the most important to him. He could have scrogged and super cropped but you still are not as consistent.you might reread it because height control was his main reason for starting this journey. he used to grow in kitchen cabinets and needed an even canopy of short plants.
but my penis is bigger than yours so I'm right.I've read it and that's what may have started his experimenting but I think his quote at the beginning I think sums up what he thinks is the most important to him. He could have scrogged and super cropped but you still are not as consistent.
I'm not even going there, you win it's to make tiny plants.but my penis is bigger than yours so I'm right.
