Han's just came out with his latest recently and probably won't be upgrading that soon I bet. The latest A51s may be upgradable. I've heard rumors the white panel may get an upgrade to it's diodes and of course they've got a mini panel system or something like that coming. Panels are like buying a computer, of course there's always a new model coming out. Just got to figure out when to jump in. Good luck.

. Apache makes a few models that you could drop in. The decent Chinese panel makers like Evergrow can but they still produce a bit of heat and aren't worth it most of the time since your ebill won't be that much lower and your yield could be on the low side at first. Plantphotonics makes a model that should be able to. Cali Light Works has a model or two. Rhino's should. Anyone else? There must be a few I'm missing. Like Lumigrow's http://www.lumigrow.com/products/pro-series-greenhouse-lights which will probably crush a 400HPS in both power used and yield.
Last grow I did two plants. Got 256 grams combined. I am moving to one plant, but with a much larger container for my next grow. I am just debating if it's worth changing my lighting system for heat/space saving, or if I should just buy a new hood.That's actually a good question in this day and age. How many plants do you want to grow? What are you pulling off your 400?
So I would think a good grower like you with the right plant wouldn't miss a beat. Maybe the first run a little, but if you're scrogging you couldn't go wrong. You'll save money in the long run but if you can put solid numbers u with a 400 I kinda feel dumb telling you to switch. If you get a quality panel, you'll like it. Have you seen this thread?Hello All, I have been looking to switch a grow box I got from a friend that he made from CFL lighting to LED lighting with some supplemental CFL lighting. The dimensions of the box are a length of 29 inches a height of 24 inches and a depth of 18 inches. I have been looking at this light http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-7-Band-135w-UFO-LED But I'm not sure if I have enough height in the box to hang the light without bleaching the leaves of the plants. My question is, do you think I would be safe using the ufo model or one of the 180 models from HTG, or do you think I should buy multiple of this light http://growace.com/grow-light/led-grow-lights/36-watt-advanced-spectrum-max-dual-band-3w-chip-led-grow-bulb.html? Do you think it would be easier to light up my space with the big one or a lot of the little ones? and do you think the lower amount of spectrums in the smaller lights will affect plant growth? You can count on it! Gotta read up on how to start a journal so peeps can guide me along some and slap me upside the head when I make mistakes. Should be growing Late Oct / Early Nov time frame. The grow will all be from feminized seeds, I have c99, Vanilla Kush, LSD, and Bubblegum. Floranova nutes will be used.
I'm no LED expert but I know a useful spectrum. Just look at the spectrum of an HPS and you'll see all the green and yellow it puts out...all wasted power. That's why I only veg and flower with CMHs and get better results. Now look at the spectrum of a Hans and you'll notice the blues and reds which the plants do use. Spectrum is only half of the equation actual output of actually photons is the other half. Spectrum makes more of them usable, but you are still constrained my the output because of the energy in it to drive photosynthesis.
