If you have a look at slipons grow he's using a panel available on ebay au. I had one for a while.
Really, better value is contacting one of the chinese suppliers directly thru alibaba (eg cidly/apollo evergrow, even the green panels are a fair bit cheaper direct).
tbh, i'd skip all of them. Hans from the UK, A51 from the states (both use paypal). Watts V growth isn't that impressive from the cheap lights, i'd save the bikkies.
My 160w A51 light cut abt the same as the 285w apollo..

i'd also like to know the awnser to this if 4 is more than enough how many would get it past veg 2?
Four is more then enough. They are 3500LM. Also they will customize the order if you want. I currently have one and ordered another one with UV and IR. I am currently on day 9 from seed with three seeds. The nodes are tight, plants are bushy and about four inches tall with three nodes and starting on the fourth. This light runs cooler then my 13W daylight led. And I would recommend it to anyone starting out. These lights kill my cfls easily.

Have any photos in use CoJalex?, i'm wondering abt the reflector angle. Iv'e got some of the 36w model. The lens angle is too tight, when I took off the lens it was close to 180* and too much spread. Maybe okfor seedlings at a distance, what sort of distance from the seedlings do you have with the proprietary reflector?

I don't have any pics of this grow and my cam got destroyed a month ago. I don't now about the reflection angle or anything like that, but I do know the beam is pretty concentrated but I can check the lens angle for you. I am new to growing and this is my first led grow. So I'm trying to learn as much as I can about LED. They were about six inches away now they are closer to two.

I am using the 12R 6B right now for veg. I have ordered a12r 4b 1UV and 1 IR to help with flower and late veg.

Yeah mate, all that matters is the grow. Sounds like it's ok so far so all the best. It's interesting the different spectrum options. Mine were in with other lights so i'm not exactly sure what role they played. The couple of plants directly under them were fine. Perhaps a bit smaller but they flowered ok (8r 4 b) I'm downsizing and wont use them but had in mind that they would be good in spotlight fittings sliding up and down the corners (if you do decide to get a larger main light) Good luck.

Anyone here having problems contacting Area51 by email? Sent them a couple of emails a few weeks ago, never heard from them.

I just ordered 4 lights from A51 about a week maybe 6 days ago. Jeff responded within 2 days of my first email and on the day of purchase there were 4-5 emails between the 2 of us in the same day. Last one containing my invoice. So over all I'd say I had no issues with emailing them.

I haven't grown with LED before and I'm considering replacing my veg tent lighting with a one of these $200 fixtures:

TaoTronics® TT-GL14 80*3W 6 Bands Led Grow Light http://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics®-TT-GL14-Fertilizers-Germinating-Growing/dp/B008MU049W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380731289&sr=8-1&keywords=led+grow+light 6 Band, Red: 630, 660nm, Blue: 425nm, Infrared: 730nm, Ultraviolet: 380nm, White: 12000k

300w LED Grow Light 6 Band 3w Veg Flower http://www.amazon.com/300w-Light-Flower-Hydroponic-Panel/dp/B009WSJW64/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1380731345&sr=8-17&keywords=led+grow+light 6 Band, Red: 630, 660nm, Blue: 455nm, Infrared: 730nm, Violet 430nm,Orange 610nm

My veg tent is 2x3 and normally lit by 2x125w cfl and sometimes I add in a 150hps. I normally veg from sprouts 1-2 months and sometimes grow a few autos in it.

I know these are bottom tier lights but the price makes it attractive. Just compared to the 250w of cfls will I see a measurable boost in growth? Will the temps in whole tent be lower and not just at plant level? Any other benefits I should expect from using one of these fixtures?

Or should I just save my money?

Save your money and stick with your current setup until you can afford better panels. Their both junk and will crap out on you in less than 18 months if lucky:). Nice monsanto avatar BTW^^^

Thanks for the advice. My current gear works fine so I'll wait and watch for the price to drop on something better.

For the time being, those two the only one i can afford/get fast. I know it's quite cheap. My plants now entering 3rd week, and rain season just started. No more outdoor growing. i planning on moving them inside indoor growing. At least please tell me which one is better?
Man it seems no one endorses thoses things here, so you're just going to have to make a choice and go with it.

If it's good let me know
