Who would like a giant keif box to do trimming over?

I've built 4 of these boxes so far for friends and they've turned out to be pretty durable. I use bridal veil fine screen as the filament pulled taught over the frame, super glued and spray insta set, trim off excess material and then border that with a door stop trim molding which doubles as the lip for the two halves to join. The collection plate is not removable, too much keif gets lost in the crack with a removable tray when boxes become this large. One would think it might be a problem not having a removable collection tray but I assure you from personal use it works out nicely. I've been using mine for over a year and the screen and collection plate are still pristine despite having stems dragged on the filaments surface many hundreds of times, there is not one tear or run. the bridal veil material you can get from jo-ann's is surprisingly incredibly durable. It's a nice way to trim as well, the boxes are set atop 4 standard size detatchable dining room table legs making it a perfect hieght to sit down to and trim. It's a good alternative to expensive trimming machines, and a much more organic approach to trimming. It's large enough to stack a bunch of branches in it and trim from there. Even more intricate designs could be made for example star shaped boxes or long rengtangular as well as interior wooden slotted dividers over the filtering screen for even more versatility.

If you're still trimming over a 5 gallon bucket I urge you to consider building one yourself. It just takes a weekend's time and about $100 in parts to make this.

Now you just need to motorize it ;) A buddy from another site makes this product: EZ keif.

That ez keif looks interesting. Less expensive than I thought it would be for the basic model. That's a nice sized trim box you made Growery.

No if our growers caught our trimmers kiefing their bud there would be hell to pay. Really ? You want to get something that some one else harvested the trichomes from? For shame!

I think it's just for trimming over. I don't think they tap on the buds or anything, at least that's my take on it. I wouldn't use a trimming machine just for that reason, it would knock off too many trichomes.

i hadn't thought about that before. i make these for people who grow and trim their own meds. i wouldn't think commercial growers would be interested in something like this.

yeah it adds up, a few grams here-n-there, it beats trimming over a regular surface. also depends how dry the product is.

Like the simplicity of use, along with design.

However, 3 bucks worth of dry ice and a 110 micron bag cost 90% less.

I think everyone will have their own way of using a box of that size, for me I use it more as a nice trimming table than as a keif collector. the fact that it collects keif is just a bonus to me. its really the convenience of being able to pile branches on top of each other and sitting down to trim without having to worry about branches dropping off the table, ect. I agree if all that you're concerned about is keif extraction, there are other better and cheaper and faster ways to do it. but you can't trim very well over a 5 gallon bucket with ice in it :P
