Slowly but surely we are wakin up. You can't change anything quickly because it will leave people still willing to fight for the Other side. Slow gradual change is the only way to effect the masses and we are doin it. Less then a lifetime ago you could get life in prison for pot, we now post pictures of our grows on a public forum.
In time it's a necessity that we figure it out or we parish. No living creature can live beyond its means for long. We now know more about the world then was ever thought possible, the best part is we now know that soon we will know an exponential amount more so people are starting to slow down and think about things instead of acting with extremism based on the limited scope of our current knowledge (ie terrorism, religion, racism)
In the meantime getting these pot laws loosened up will really ease the pain of waiting.

This vitriol and ignorance is astounding not only in this thread but across this great nation. People can't grasp how the government functions, its history, and why their armchair pseudo philosophy is complete and utter bullshit. No wonder we are thirty ninth in education, people believe nonsense, fairytales, conspiracy theories all the while shopping at walmart and going home wondering why their wage hasn't risen in 20 fucking years but are happy as long as their internet and cable tv fucking work.

These "founding fathers" didn't agree on many things its not a monolithic block of opinion. And ya some of them were assholes and douches. Yet they managed to create a new form of governance. One that has worked pretty well and despite its flaws works well.
