Who Else is Single and Happy?

I'm 26, I keep myself healthy, I have a pretty good job, and I'm single. What the fuck is wrong with that?

Sorry I bought a stupidly big bong today and my family is recently again giving me shit for being single so I'm venting. A lot of my friends are starting to marry, a lot of my family already has, and now my cousin just got engaged. And my family couldn't be happier. Thing is, he's my age and my family is really laying into me lately about at least starting dating again.

I haven't had a serious girlfriend for over 3 years at this point, and honestly, I'm happy. I have nothing against relationships, they can be great. I just have had to deal with mostly the opposite.

I dunno, I'm just bitching honestly. Has any of my fellow RIU'ers dealt with this? I mean I totally respect marriage and relationships and all, but its not for everyone. Why is the end goal in life a monogamous partnership? Do you know many people that have actually achieved this? It's a tiny number of marriages that actually last, and last happily. Why the fuck am I made to expect this?

I'm single but I ain't happy, I mean it's not gonna suck itself and I can't reach. I can like almost reach, maybe if I lost a few pounds or did some yoga or maybe remove some ribs like Marylin Manson did.

Your spine is what keeps you from bending in such a way not your ribs but thats here nor there. Being single doesnt mean no sex.

Mid 30's single and - Not happy , matter of fact im about to quit 1 well paying job to work a krappy job that puts me around many single women

It was not long ago I thought I dont need a GF as long as their are hookers , I still do at times

I think I miss being a teenager

Marriage doesn't mean you have to have a monogamous relationship, just need to find the right woman.;)

That's good to know, I was about to get some ribs removed because I'm too lazy for diet and exercise or trying that yoga stuff.

What kind of surgery would I have to get to make my spine bend enough?

I've been out of a long term relationship for 2 years, but I've had flings during that time. I definitely prefer the relationship, hands down.

What?? You can't pull off weird sex maneuvers with strangers creepo! Lol unless it's something I'm into, that's a no-go for me... someone you know and are comfortable with that person on the other hand, I'm game for anything haha.

Seriously though, a serious relationship will change your entire perspective, and it's good you don't going around expecting to get one. It will just happen if you want it to. But if you don't that's fine too, but I personally feel like I would miss out on a HUGE aspect of life without that incredibly close relationship you can only get in a long term serious relationship.

Maybe its just me but I can usually get away with things with a "one night stand" that I can't with a "girlfriend". But maybe that has something to do with me, not things in general.

But I do appreciate your input!

You sound like a good man, so I will tell you the truth. To hell with what your family wants, it is pure self-interest known as grand children. Since you are 26, that gives you a solid 9 years to bang every tramp chick you can get your hands on. Treat them all like garbage to keep them wanting you.

When you hit 35, then you are going to have to find a twenty-something chick to marry. This is a necessary evil, just keep in mind that you will continue to nail as many other women as is possible while married. In your forties, you will have to dump your wife as she will now be too old for you. Hopefully, you will have learned how to hide assets before this inevitable event. If you have managed to build (and hide) a small fortune, then you will not lack for women leaping out of their undies to please you.

Took a while from my last break up, but I am now content again and not looking to jump into any relationship anytime soon. I get my fair share of skirts here and there so yeah, I'm happy enough. If the right woman comes along and things were clicking, I'd give it another go.
I've been in a couple of 7 year and 4 year relationships but things just didn't work out so, I moved on because I thought it was best. Life is short and don't settle for something you're not happy in.

Very true.. they are one in a million IMO to understand the urges and know how to separate sex/love without getting jealous. Excuse me while I go hug her :eyesmoke:
