Z7, Snow Goddess, Tora Bora under CMH & LEDs

Hi all. Being that I'm still a noob, I decided to post this grow up in the hopes you all will continue to keep me from fucking up too badly. :eyesmoke:

I have the Z7 and two Snow Goddesses vegging in 5 gallon air pots in FFOF. I also got my Blumats rigged back up including my hillbilly water tower with sight level gauge :-) And I got my compost teas brewing again. No guanos yet, but I did boost it with a dose of cal/mg. The Tora Bora is still a baby in the dome.

Right now I have the following lights going:

(1) T5 HO 8 bulb 4' fixture
(1) T5 HO 4 bulb 4' fixture
(6) T5 HO 1 bulb 2' fixtures
(2.5) 240w (~133 real watts per) 7-band LEDs (one light crapped out exactly 1/2 of the bulbs hence 2.5)

So a bit over a KW. They seem to like it, but it's too much crap to fool with. I'm going to pull the T5s and replace with a 315w ceramic metal halide light come bloom time. I will keep the LEDs going to supplement as I am in a 4x4 tent..... Here's some pics and the cut sheet for the CMH lamp. Folks are supposedly getting great yields and the light produces less heat than one of my LEDs - I shit you not.

Here's the dope on the CMH light

Sun System® LEC 315 utilizes cutting edge Light Emitting Ceramic™ technology. Highly efficient agriculturally engineered CDM-T Elite 315/930/U/E Agro Lamp (lamp included). Greatly improved full color light spectrum out of next generation ceramic lamps. Higher amounts of beneficial UV and far red spectrums increase the lamps growth power to the plants. Very high 1.95 PPF per second light source. 3100K color temperature, high 92 CRI, 33,000 initial lumens (105Lm/W). Long life 20,000 hour lamp. High 90% lumen maintenance @ 8000 hr./High 85% PPF maintenance @ 20,000 hr. Unique open rated lamp construction reduces radiant heat from the arc tube and is suitable for open fixture use. 50/60 Hz low frequency, square wave, highly efficient electronic ballast rated for 50,000 hour ballast life. LEC 315 driver incorporates built in thermal protection. One year warranty lamp.

Looking good bubba, one looks a tad overwatered. Keep up the good work!!!
Thanks! You are correct sir. The little one is droopy from too much water. When you initially set up the Blumats, the soil has to be saturated. She didn't much care for being that soggy. I hope to see her bounce back today. SG3 and the Z7 are already putting on new growth after the transplant. I'm thinking that I will veg for 4-6 weeks. I shudder to think how I'm going to keep control of 2 sativas.... but at least I'm not growing in a cab anymore.

Yes sir, thanks. I actually plan to scrog the tent. Probably this weekend. The 2 Snow Goddesses look like they were topped perfect and have multiple mains, but the Z7 doesn't look to have been topped. I'll just thread her into the net.

The z7 for me gave a nice perfect christmas tree shape and has nice pine cone shaped buds on her. She'll make quite the beautiful christmas tree if ya get started here soon :)

I think I'm going to veg for another 4-6 weeks :weed::weed::weed:

I pulled out my 8 bulb T5 and replaced with a Sun Systems LEC 315, which is a 315w CMH lamp. Nice that the fixture is made in the USA. I think eventually I will put 2 of them in there.

Bubba, sub'd very curious how those Blumats work out for you. I have some residual damage to nerves in hands due to two fusions and fine touch is sketchy for me. I cannot tell if the soil is damp or cold, someone recommended the Blumats. Also will be watching Z7, been interested in her for awhile. Keep up the good work and nice looking set up.

Can't wait to see the Snow Goddess...
She is beautiful...

Sorry if I missed this but....

Which one you growing?
High CBD?..or the high THC?

I'm assuming the former, considering the remainder of the line-up.

If these blue mats don't pan out for you a soil tester would work great for you or after a a few weeks of growing by just tipping the pot to see the weight of it is also to know when to water. :-) happy growing

Rock on man, subbed. I ran tora bora years ago outside. Really great strain. LA con with train wreck smell. The resin should be amazing with all the good spectrums you got going.

yep thanks for the suggestion, that is something I am already doing. Just always seeing what else is out there and may work for me, thus the blue mats.

Welcome aboard!! I hear you on the Blumats. This ain't my first rodeo with them. Lessons Bubba has learned on dem Blumats:

1) Plumb in all Blumats before the grow, even futures you won't be using, I just shut the valve and leave them set in a pitcher of water in the tent.

2) Bleed the air from the system. Best way to do this is with the ole mark one human suction system (I.e. make like you're jacking someone's gasoline :-) and suck the air out. If air is left, it can cause a run out of the whole res.

3) Never let the reservoir run dry. If you do, bleed the air as in #2 or bad things will follow. Of course you also now have to reset the Blumats.

4) Never turn the adjustment dial more than 1/4 of an arrow every other day. Small movements or bad things may follow.

5) I only run clean water through them. Feedings are done by hand.
