Indoor/Sunshine Grow

It's a shame that the hps was so cruel. The girl is so healthy, she just needs some photons to finish. Hope the sunshine hangs around longer than predicted.

thanks Watt....yeah rather choked about the colas, but they do seem to have lots of trichromes underneath those ugly dead leaves....so I'm hoping they will be smokable

It has been in the dark room since Thursday evening, so about 36 hours darkness.... then I chopped early this Saturday morning

The burnt colas are so dry that one snapped off when I dropped it in the shower/tub. (I know,,,,,shouldn't of smoked a joint before starting)

I didn't snip the leaves as I want it to cure slower, but I will likely snip the big fan leaves in a few days

Once the last branch was hung, I got this idea to let the pruned plant continue, so it's in the living room again but the weather is rather nasty at the moment, so not much sun

.....anyhow, I will play it by ear, with no idea or expectations that it will grow or not

plant has been hanging for 7 days in the dark bathroom.....time to prune but was still a touch too damp, so I let it dry a few more hours before putting in the jar, but I'm sure I'll need to air-out the buds for a few more hours

haven't put them on the scales yet....need to dry out just a bit more.

I put the burnt cola tips in one 500 ml jar, they are bone dry already....the rest is in two 1 litre jars stuff full just for the photo-op, then split them up into 4 jars for better air circulation

It's been 2 weeks since the chop and the little sawed off runt just ain't doing much of anything, I watered it after a week and wasn't even dry.

Many of the trichromes are still clear, zero amber....so was just hoping some more would turn milky but I don't think there is enough sun left to make any difference

Anyhow, just because I was bored....I chopped the big fan leaves off to make her look nice, no idea if this is good or bad, but I really don't care at this point...... just having fun with it for now but it won't be around for much longer.

my buds are stable at around 65% RH, so time to weigh in the crop.

I use a cheap digital food scale and it came in at 66 grams, which is higher than expecting, so I double checked with my precise gun powder scales....the weight was 67.3 grams

The 2 top colas that got burnt are about 6 grams, I sampled a bit and it's not overly flavourful but okay enough to smoke

So I'm happy with the yield....smoked a nice firm bud right after these pics....decent flavour with a clean buzz but not overly powerful

I have found all of my plants have a common unique taste that's hard to explain, most likely because they were handled with tender loving care as opposed to being squished into a bag and bounced around the city.

Enjoy the smoke bro. I'd love to join you for a beer and a joint. What time did you say I can come over?

I used the red/orange/yellow bag system to make some hash from 70 grams of leaves....they recommend no more than 50 grams, so I used 40 grams.

Results: 8.3 grains (.54 grams) from the orange bag (far left in pic) and 19.9 grains (1.3 grams) from the yellow bag (middle in pic)

I used a different method for the remaining 30 grams, which is a dry sift thought silk screen...results 23.6 grains (1.5 grams) (far right in pic)

Total = 51.9 grains (3.37 grams)...attached pics have a dime, nickel and quarter for a size reference.......my guess is the one in the middle will be the best quality

Well the sawed off runt wasn't doing as well.....a few leaves were starting to turn yellow and no growth or change in trichrome colours since Nov 2nd when I harvested the top

my second growth experiment did not provide any value other than I got to watch her grow an additional month, but we did have a lot of crap weather...also the limited hours of sunshine and cool temps in November didn't help

I pulled the plant out of the 2L pop bottle, the stink was super bad, so bad i took a quick pic and got it seal in a bag...major root rot, even worst than the pic shows

Oh well...nothing gained, nothing lost, so this is the end, let these popcorn buds dry out and that's all she wrote...won't start growing again until 2014
