States To Avoid for Cannabis.

Hi everyone,

I recently stumbled across a series by National Geographic, done last year in many cities across the U.S. Unfortunately, I do not have the editing skills to simply take out all of the cannabis portions...as I would love to re-paste them together as one film on youtube. The differences between Seattle and Nashville in this country are like night and day. I never realized some states still are abusing their authority to seize property for minor cannabis infractions. Sorry about having to use this whole vid, the seizure and growing portions are at the 9 and 27 minute marks respectively.

What other states are as archaic as Tennessee?. That poor country singer had his whole van seized over a small amount last year:

the really crazy thing sun is that tennessee is a huge pill state, not to mention meth, but they battle people over use of cannabis, which is surely way better for people than pills, or definitely meth ffs..

Probably a comparable amount to the black market. The war on drugs contributes billions to the economy on both sides. It's like a direct conversion of misery into profit!

yeah, i mostly meant that i don't think that the money(s) being made from prohibtion is the sole reason why cannabis is stll illegal..
imo, there are still people out there who buy into the entire getway drug theory, not to mention the other people who believe all drugs are bad, unless of course it's alcohol or prescribed by a dr..

Yes and a lot of people are making a lot of money convincing them of that fact and doing whatever they can to prevent evidence to the contrary from being introduced. We can't have an FDA approved study of medical cannabis because the only federally legal source is the people that want to keep it illegal. One of the reasons MAPS has been able to do MDMA research is that shortly before it was banned the Nichols' group whipped up 2kg to store in hopes that it could be used for research in the future. It only took about a quarter century to jump through the regulatory hoops to give it to someone.

Everyone I know either smokes or they don't but if they don't, they st least respect my right to do so. There really isn't much talk down here for or against it. It is just the elephant in the room being ignored.

There is no organized MJ reform efforts here. The only thing even close that I have ever seen was a few parents at the state capital pissed off because they have to keep bailing their kids out of jail for smoking flowers.

Our state used to have the same type of property seizure laws, that came to an end when people being deprived of property began suing municipalities.

I'm amazed departments are still getting away with this, but then again...the south always seems to lag a decade behind the remainder of our country.

IE: Not one single med state south of the Mason Dixon line.

I grew my very first plant in Ft. Lauderdale, over a decade ago. Had no idea what I was doing, and cut it down when it topped over my 6 foot privacy fence.

Florida is another state that comes down hard on users/producers.

I'll bet I could add Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Texas, Indiana, and probably Kentucky to the list. I've read the statutes in North Carolina, they're actually fairly lenient in that state.

If one of the south east states legalized, the population would double in 5 years and they'd have a few billion extra dollars. If it was a 8 hour or less drive, id probably move there too. I think the closest green state is about 20 hour drive. Too far for me.

That's a shame, cuz' Iowa has some of best soil on the entire planet...and they use it all for corn/soybeans etc.
