LMAO...allot more then $2500.00 dollars thats for sure. I like your attitude though!! At least you can afford more then a CFL light!! But seriously...Whats the square footage your working with? You will need more then one room to have a propetual grow. Are you using ceeds?? will you use clones?? Will you keep mother plants?? Have you thought it all out? You need multiple rooms that will serve multiple functions. Thats the only way you can roll out buds every three months. Will you be using soil? are you doing hydro? ETC ETC see where I'm coming from!

I pull almost 2 pounds every harvest with 1000watt hps for flower so id say 4000 watt room should get 6 lbs easily I wanna do a 3000 watt room veg up to 2000 watts then flip to flower with 3000 should get almost 5 lbs

Put in some work of your own! I've spent hundreds of hours researching grow info. Growing is an art form and your first piece of art work is your grow room. You will also need a lot more than $2500 to hit your mark. A good sog set up can produce 2lbs per 1000 watt light. You can get going with $2500 but it's not going to be the most bad ass system money can buy. Maybe if you had more like $25k.

I've just spent about £600 ($900) on a 4 x 4 tent set up with a 600w and 6'' fan/filter.
I still need to buy a fish tank air pump and a few other things.
I don't have a clue how much I'll harvest.
I'm a beginner and to make a guess would be presumptuous.

Let the Cannabis Gods decide.

Why do noob's always want to yield big before they even have a successful grow? First get through a single grow and keep the plants healthy. Then worry about yield.

SERIOUS light penetration, and all of the surrounding equipment to handle and maintain that light penetration.

2500$ is the beginning of a small set up including medium, nutes, meters but it doesn't include the monthly electric bill or a lot of wiggle room once your seeds have germinated. A lot of information is found right on this website and it is all for free with an Internet connection. Start small with something you are comfortable with. I like growing outdoors so soil was my medium. I already knew something about it. Going hydro would have been over the top for me at the beginning. I don't have unlimited funds to give the electric company so I looked at LED lights and fluorescents instead of HID. Even choosing the seeds and the seed company was challenging. These little initial considerations and decisions may not be necessary or right ones for you, though it sounds like a budget is important. Start small and you will see how it all grows from there. Choose your seeds, your lights, your medium and your space and work it out on paper then read through some of the forums depending on your choices. Then you will have more specific questions. Happy growing :)

Why do I seem to be the only one to think $2500 is plant of money to get this sized grow off the ground?
How much are 4 x's 1000k ballasts and hoods and bulbs? That'll be the biggest chunk of change..
Notes aren't much ime.. 5 gallon buckets are under $5 per..
If you're handy you could easily build some tables and what not..
Idk.. but $2500 sounds like plenty of coin to get this sort of thing off the ground IMO..

I don't know, if you want all the proper tools, humidifier, dehumidifier, timers, environmental controls, fans, exhausts, ducting, hangers, etc. for a 4000w is gonna cost

I've probably spent near 1000$ so far between lights, nutes, seeds, soil, fans, meters, etc, etc, etc......

and I'm growing 2 plants.... and not all that well I might add.

just saying, 2,500 isn't going to get 6lbs per harvest. but it is a hell of a start. I'd get the basics. 1kw HPS (or LED equivalent) light flowering and maybe 600w for veg. plus all the fans, nutes, filters, soil, pots, etc to go with that.

that will probably get you 6 good sized plants. theres probably somewhere around 1lb on your first try if you do well.

rinse and repeat until you're a bomb ass grower and then you'll know what you need to get to 6lbs.

A newbie can have a successful big grow if he does his homework and has the funds to support it.
Don't be so negative.
Let's give him some constructive advice to help him out.

I totally agree with racerboy, he could easily do this for $2500, hell, he could harvest 2 lbs off of 24 plants under some 400Watters ( maybe six of them ) going 12/12 from seed and running perpetual. As long as you have the space you don't have to go Dr. Dankenstein crazy...you can get Floralux 400W HPS AIO hood/ballast for $150 from HTG Supply right now. 8 of those would only be $1200. A couple good carbon filters, ducting, build some tables, pots, soil, nutes, timers, a little electrical work, mylar etc etc....easily done for $2500.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

I totally agree dude.
2500 is plenty of money for that size grow.
If you people would do your homework and figure cost before you comment then we might tend to agree with you so go figure it out then come back and post your results.
