yeah, and we were better off with grandma living in the poorhouse with no dignity.so USA was a successful society with slavery. I could have sworn that's what the op was against....again what do you do for a living????
slavery, income inquality, segregation, imperialist foreign wars, manifest destiny, taking native american lands, treaty violations, corruption (teapot dome, just to name one), disenfranchising women, trail of tears, destruction of the environment and so on and so on and so on.The United States, before the New Deal.
actually i stand corrected, social security IS currently adding to the Deficit, and thus, the Debt. the payroll tax reduction (Boooosh) and it's extension (Bwana Obama) have already pushed SS expenditures far beyond the level of SS tax revenue, thus the SS deficit is being filled through General Fund monies, which is increasing the national Deficit which increases the Debt.No. I don't trust the president. I did at one time believe that he would end cannabis prohibition but that is more because I misjudged the political viability of it. It never had anything to do with me trusting the president, and I never did.
What I am saying is that Social Security does not contribute to the deficit, it never did. This is a verifiable fact. Therefore, it is not possible that any portion of the debt is attributable to Social Security.
The fact is, the debt came from war.
America was the greatest society that ever was in my opinion.so USA was a successful society with slavery. I could have sworn that's what the op was against....again what do you do for a living????
Ummm you said America was a successful society before the new deal. America was not a successful society but a much divided one. by the way have you ever travelled and lived outside of the USA ???America was the greatest society that ever was in my opinion.
Slavery was not one of it's brightest moments, but America corrected itself, that is what makes it so successful my friend.
Fog, unlike you, I don't look for all the bad in America, there is bad in every country.Ummm you said America was a successful society before the new deal. America was not a successful society but a much divided one. by the way have you ever travelled and lived outside of the USA ???

I thank God every day I was lucky enough to be born here. I look at all the good in this country, I don't ask for handouts, I put myself through college, worked my ass off, saved and invested, I love this country and it's opportunities.
And yes I have been to other countries, we own property in Roatan, I've traveled to S.America, every country in Central America except Panama.
Why do search for so much to hate about this country"
You didn't correct shit Fog.again I was correcting you on how America was not a successful society before the New Deal. Save the drama speech
anyone who think America was a successful society before the new deal has a lot to learn. I guess we ignore slavery, civil war, segregation etc etc etc... Maybe for you...not for meYou didn't correct shit Fog.
All you did was be your same old smug self.
I said America was the greatest society ever in my opinion.
You don't decide what my opinion is pal.
And until you come up with a society that was better, you're rebuttals fruitless at best.

segregation, unequal access to opportunity based on race, institutional racism, grandma in the poorhouse, anti-miscegeny laws, child labor, lack of worker rights, workers burning up in unsafe factories with no fire escapes and locked doors, women unable to vote, blacks de facto not allowed to vote, california and phoenix were still deserts, alcohol prohibition...Jesus London, really? No need to feel sorry for me guy.I truly have ZERO complaints in life ( none that really matter) I just don't think America was a great society before the New Deal... I guess you would have to look at it in the next mans shoes...but thanks for the eye opener in the other threadI feel sorry for you Fog, I really do.
Something in your life is not going good for you.
I define successful as rewarding, prosperous, gratifying, and being fortunate.
Perhaps your definition more resembles perfection.

i can go on if you'd like.
I might beleive anything you say if you were capable of adding to potato, but your math skills are so genuinely defunct that nothing you say can be construed as coming from the mind of an educated person. Face it Bucky, you are just a high functioning Idiot. Now if you also think that the civil war ended because of the new deal , just say so, London thinks that is how it went down. Apparently so do you. Just Wiki it, I am telling the truth.segregation, unequal access to opportunity based on race, institutional racism, grandma in the poorhouse, anti-miscegeny laws, child labor, lack of worker rights, workers burning up in unsafe factories with no fire escapes and locked doors, women unable to vote, blacks de facto not allowed to vote, california and phoenix were still deserts, alcohol prohibition...

Even if you're right, and Social Security has been adding to the DEFICIT since 2010 (those figures are less than 2% of the deficit for those years) his claim about 60% of the DEBT is still ridiculous.]"Social Security’s total expenditures have exceeded non-interest income of its combined trust funds since 2010, and the Trustees estimate that Social Security cost will exceed non-interest income throughout the 75-year projection period. The deficit of non-interest income relative to cost was about $49 billion in 2010, $45 billion in 2011, and $55 billion in 2012.
