First and only time... Some details removed.
Going to a concert to see a band many years ago. Accidentally left a small stash in a container in a pocket I forgot to check (tot pocket). Went through the frisk line like I had nothing to lose and was mortified when the off duty cop found it. The container I used was one that had significant sentimental value to me and was also very cool. I explained to the nice officer that I was very sorry, meant no disrespect and had forgotten about it. He told me to hand it over which I was happy to do and asked him to hold out his hand so I could pour it out. But no, he wanted the container too (obviously to pocket it). I told him I couldn't do that. He did not take that well and grabbed my wrist, spun me around and had his cuffs raised ready to click them on. Somehow, I got him to chill and walked away with my stash. But I really wanted to see that show. Had back stage passes and three people I had driven to the show who made it in unmolested - no way was I gonna miss it. Tore ass home, changed clothes, gelled my hair back and removed every item from my pockets that the cop had found in his second, more thorough search. Tore ass back to the show. By this time, the warm up band is playing, nobody was in line and all six or so doormen were milling about. I don't have a common face or general look about me, I knew it was gonna be tough to pull it off. So I looked around my car and found a ridiculous squeaky toy that happened to be there. I put it on an inside pocket of my jacket.
The second I walked up to the door I heard the first cop who saw me yell out "he's baaaaack". I ignored it and just waited at the window for somebody to take my ticket. Became aware of the original cop charging toward me like a bull out of the corner of my eye. He actually pushes me and ends up grabbing hold of my jacket while shouting "hey asshole". The guys in plain clothes so I break his grip, push him off me and yell back "what the fuck?". He tells me to get out - I can't come in. I react with a blank expression - but respectfully, like I just figured out that the guy was official. "i don't know what you're talkingvabout". And I can see doubt creep into his mind. So he plays along; he'll search me and find something on me to tie me to my former self. During the search he finds nothing but I.d. (which he failed to check previously), money, smokes, a lighter, and wait.... There's something in his inner pocket. The cop brightens up "What's that?" so I pulled it out, held it up, made it squeak and said "a duck." Every one of the cops bursts out laughing. The main one apologizes to me and explains that there was some guy who looked just like me, etc. I told him "I hope you catch him, he sounds like an asshole."
Was a good show, afterwards we made our way back stage. The security guy was none other than cop number 1. By this time, the gel's all outta my hair and I'm with the three people he saw me with the first time around. All he said was "you got me, fair and square".
