A basic income (also called basic income guarantee, unconditional basic income, universal basic income, universal demogrant,[SUP][1][/SUP] or citizen’s income) is a proposed system[SUP][2][/SUP] of social security in which citizens or residents of a country regularly receive a sum of money unconditionally from the government. This is distinct from guaranteed minimum income, which may be conditional upon participation in the labor force or other means testing. A basic income of any amount less than the social minimum is sometimes referred to as a 'partial basic income'.
Similar proposals for "capital grants provided at the age of majority" date to Thomas Paine's Agrarian Justice of 1795, there paired with asset-based egalitarianism.

well your expected to bust your ass working until your 65 {if you even live that long} so im for ssi..... it would be bogus has hell to have someone work for there whole life then when they get old and things that were once easy become harder to be like ok fuck you..... hope I will have ssi when im old.....

it's retarded. The Dole is a large part of what ruined Rome's Republic, leaving the door open for every demagogue who was willing to promise the plebs more free shit from somebody else's pockets.

There is also a proposal to replace the income tax, it is known as the "fair tax" wherein the income tax is replaced by a national retail sales tax. Instead of taking part of your paycheck each week/month and giving it back to you once a year, and as a means of of being a progressive sales tax, the fair tax does not tax anyone who earns at or below whatever the poverty level is. It does this by giving a "prebate" where each citizen, or head of household, gets money at the beginning of the month that corresponds to the spending of a person who earns poverty level income.

taxation doesnt have to be a complex mathematical formula which gives and takes depending on how much or little you have.

the constitution provides ample means for taxation, through Stamp Taxes, Tariffs, and if direct taxation is needed, through Apportionment, where the budget is drawn up, and the expected bill is divided among the STATES according to their population, and the STATES determine how the bill shall be paid.

this places a burden on the congress to draft an accurate budget, control spending, and avoid debt based financing, leaving the issue of HOW you might be taxed to the states, where your vote actually counts.

The prebate only exists so the fair tax isnt regressive. I modern society ought to have a progressive tax. This is the only way to accomplish making the fair tax progressive.

The "prebate" term fucks with peoples mind, I guess maybe a lot of folks have not devoted the time to research it that I have. I wrote a very in-depth paper on it my senior year in college. A fairly demanding paper, and the only time in college that I, or anyone I know of, argued themselves into a higher grade than the one the professor marked on their paper after initial grading.

If I said that the gov't was going to give tax refunds to people at the end of each year based on the poverty level. That would be simple to understand and most would call it fair.

So what is so fucked up about dividing that by 12, and sending it to you once a month, instead of once a year?

They are difficult to catch, though, because they generally hang out with Sasquatch and Sasquatch does not take kindly to people trying to rustle his unicorn. The best way to pull the steal a Sasquatch's pony is to get him to lie down on his back and rub his belly. This puts the large footed, foul smelling beast into a trance-like state. After you are able to accomplish this Sasquatch taming task, the rest of the progressive, liberal utopia of free shit will be bestowed upon the worthy and accompanied by unicorn farts, which smell like ambrosia and are the universe's most energy dense fuel.

There's no need for basic income because everyone is gainfully employed and nobody ever goes with out sustenance or shelter. Indeed, nothing is ever wasted and there are no empty houses. Machines are not and never will take jobs away from people.
