Watch this movie , or if you have already , do you think this is happening like in the movie?
This movie was made in 1998 , think of what tech they would have now?
The government can track anyone anytime , Will there be no privacy at all in the future?
I see it in Aus with more and more cctv cameras and such getting installed all over the place every day .

The UK has more CCTV's per population than anywhere else.

But it's what the population want....

I always wonder how any resistance to the Nazi's could've operated if Hitler had had this surveillance technology....???

And, in the near future, microchips will be unnecessary, it will be possible to track specific individuals using DNA.
All they need is the technology that allows them to latch on to the individual set of markers in the DNA from a distance.

Like sniffer dogs but a million times more effective.

It's on its way.

At first it will be used to catch a criminal/terrorist that EVERYONE agrees needs stopping - No one will particularly care about his human rights.
Then it will slowly be unrolled to catch more categories of offenders until it is used to monitor anyone and everyone that the ruling powers see fit to investigate.

China is on the verge of becoming the global superpower - which means Human Rights will lose importance.
Surveillance technology doubles every 4 years.

It's the perfect storm and it's heading to planet earth.

It's coming!
Coming? It's here. It's been here since '01. Welcome to the new world order. What you really won't like is the machines are coming online now. They will be rolled out slowly, in an effort to confuse, and distract the public, but what will we do when humans are no longer necessary to work?

Virtual immortality and no work to do.... I've been struggling with the concept of "Arbeit macht frei", for some time now.

I am particularly creeped out that here in the US, businesses have been given a free hand to collect data as they see fit. It's made shopping very disturbing - knowing that certain mannequins have cameras in their eyes hooked up to facial recog software and that every bit of data that's collected is fed back into your retail profile. It ain't right.

Cell phones can basically track the path of your daily travels on an electronic map for the NSA by tower triangulation.
Agencies as lowly as the DEA can use a device called a slipfish to pinpoint your still location down to a single hotel room.
Face recognition software has already been used to find a person on CC cameras in london from a central location, just enter the persons name face is pulled from DB and software finds it live.
A case in New York where by request of FBI cell company activated a hidden feature in a 2008 smart phone of a mobster to record his day from his pocket without him knowing.
There is a back door API in Facebook app that funnels all posts to an FBI database using four square back end.
Try and google info about "girls around me" app for iphone that was pulled from store in 2011 - and this was built by a private company
60% of members of board of directors of Google are either Current or former NSA employees in 2011
In 2012 the Head of DARPA was made CTO of Google
Even private companies are now allowed to get a license to pilot drones and it will not be illegal for them to film you through the windows of your own home as long as they are hoverering in the street ie public property.
...................................what do you think?

So, we know it's happening, but why? The idea of someone trying to control the masses is lost on me for some reason. There has to be something else, a bigger picture.

...and, yes, I am an idealist, tyvm

1.Investigators spend their whole lives trying to get to the why of psychopath criminals.
2.It is important to realize it is not your government to fear, the government is nothing but a sockpuppet for large corporations
3.The documentary CORPORATION does an exceptional job of relaying that by definition alone a corporation must be a psychopathic entity
now go back to point 1.
answer .... because they can! no conspiracy, no illuminati, nothing like that. Simply a complex system evolving into a beast in and of itself. Like the stock market is now complex enough it cannot be accurately predicted.

IMO, most of this is being driven on profit motive. I mean, not doing it would mean that a Corporations BOD is not trying to maximize the return of the shareholders, a serious offense. The problem as I see it is that business and government are hardly distinguishable from each other. Want their money to run for office? Dance to their tune.

I blame "Citizens United..." for a lot of this. Frankly, I trust government more than I do businesses these days. (That was hard to write).

Yesterday, a judge ruled the government spying was unconstitutional. At the same time, Obama was meeting with top people from google and yahoo. There is nothing stopping these companies from doing the spying and passing the information to the NSA.

The judge said the spying could continue to give a chance. To appeal the ruling. Im sure by then google can streamline everything straight to the NSA.
