See, I don't find this insulting or demeaning at all. Simply someones interpretation of the book. And also some pretty good points on sex.

"Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men," he tells reporter Drew Magary. "Don't be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won't inherit the kingdom of God. Don't deceive yourself. It's not right."
He also muses about his own sexual orientation: "It seems like, to me, a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man's anus. That's just me. I'm just thinking: There's more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I'm saying? But hey, sin: It's not logical, my man. It's just not logical."

sometimes, i put my erect penis between my wife's large tits and thrust until i spray semen all over her neck and chest. what's logical about that?

i would be very offended if someone compared me to a drunk thief who fucks goats because of how my partner and i bring each other's genitals to orgasmic wonder in the privacy of our own bedroom.

sounds like phil is just harboring a hateful grudge.

No offense, but that's the very definition of Free Speech. To get to say whatever dumb ass retarded shit comes to mind, without government reprisal. Doesn't make their opinion right. (That's why Nation of Islam, Black Panthers, Klu Klux Klan, Aryan Nation, NAMBLA, NAACP, ACLU, and even RIU exist.)

Of course, "Free Speech" as defined in the US Constitution, Amendment 1 ONLY protects your speech from GOVERNMENT interference. A&E is just another shitbag pile of producers and marketing execs. No free speech guarantee from "the press."
Yes, I'm very aware of the Governmental aspects of free speech. Just like it applies to a corporation due to personhood that goes to the 14th amendment and as far back as 1819.

Don't worry about offending me buddy. I'm glad to have you back!:bigjoint:bongsmilie:leaf:

it seems there are zealots on both sides of this issue, if we exiled all of the zealots you would undoubtedly be on that ship as well.
i don't find anything especially zealous about condemning his speech in the manner i have done, nor defending the first amendment or the practice of christianity.

and exiling someone on a ship is not what i meant by*"relegating to the fringe". right now we have people catering to people who say these kinds of things, which shocks me.

I have met few Ideologues who admit to being one.

I know what you meant. it was a metaphor

. right now we have people catering to people who say these kinds of things, which shocks me.
catering to? not I. I merely defend his right to speak such things, and harbor such thoughts.

It is the ability to have such vastly different opinions that elevate our country to among the top societies in the world....we are slipping tho. The whole "everybody has to agree and get along " mentality is crushing the spirit of america imo.

I believe if you had your way buck we would all be a bunch of mindless drones, plodding through life saying ....yes sir

do tell me what my ideology is then.

I know what you meant. it was a metaphor
its design was not all that flattering in that it made me out to be some extremist.

i get that.

i'm not lumping you in with the people who run out to chic-fil-A suddenly once they hear that its owner donated money to vile anti-gay hate groups by any stretch.

you're not that type of person from what i gather.

i disagree with the first part and wonder why you take another stab at me in the second part.

I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Lots of pissing from everyone on this issue.

Technically, persons who quote the bible are accurate in stating that gay marriage is prohibited.

Of course, Mein Kampf could also be quoted to prove a point... As could a Village People song.

One thing most people forget -- you have the right to walk away, to respond with a verbal retort, to agree... But, NEVER do you have a RIGHT NOT to be offended, when you continue to listen to a speech or statement that you disagree with. Everyone's got an opinion, and just like ass cracks, at one point, everyone's stinks.

It's the sponsors of the show that hold the cards. It's pressure from their sponsors, just like Paula Dean......

lol, no sir ! i'm not going there ;)
its design was not all that flattering in that it made me out to be some extremist.
.
But you are, you are ready to "relegate" ol phil to the edges of society simply because he believes if you are gay you won't go to heaven.
I mean...it's a personal view. Not murder or rape or something heinous. Hardly worthy of exile imo.

you being ready to cast him out makes you an extremist as well.
i'm not lumping you in with the people who run out to chic-fil-A suddenly once they hear that its owner donated money to vile anti-gay hate groups by any stretch.

no I am not

The fact that you disagree with the first is the reason for the jab.

The diversity of thought in america is precisely what allows us to prosper.

Funny ol phil admonished male prostitutes , swindlers, drunkards, homosexual offenders, but left out female prostitutes. I guess they're ok? lol

I wonder if he feels it's ok to call a woman a Riblet? I can almost hear him say it.

I don't understand what the problem is..

He was within his rights to say how he feels, his employer was free to boot him from the show, and people are free to voice their disapproval or approval of his remarks. Where is the issue?

I tried calling my wife a riblet. She didn't like it. I asked if it was because I'm not christian. She said "no, it's because you sound like an asshole".

there you go again with another unflattering metaphor.

i don't want to cast out or exile anyone on a ship, i just wish it was less socially acceptable to cater to bigotry (as some are doing) for political, personal, or profitable gain.

bigoted views should be relegated (yes, that word again) to thanksgiving dinner with the family, low volume drunken conversations at the local watering hole, high volume drunken conversations on a boat, and the like.

no need to call someone a swindling drunken animal fucker because she rubs her vagina on her partner's vagina in a practice known as tribbing in the public sphere.

i don't think that makes me an extremist, do you?

The fact that you disagree with the first is the reason for the jab.

The diversity of thought in america is precisely what allows us to prosper.
i am all for diversity of thought, and your belief that america is slipping is one i would disagree with, as well as your reasoning for it.

no one is saying that everybody has to agree and get along, that is a strawman.

but if you are going to be saying rather disagreeable and inflammatory things about groups of people like ol' phil did, say it within appreciative company or keep it to yourself altogether.

"if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" is the category this falls under.

i mean I could have cause to be offended as well. At one time I was greedy, a slanderer and have certainly been drunkerd off my ass on more than one occasion.

I am not offended at all. Why ??? cuz what some bearded fellow thinks about me means very little, and does not change who I am or how I am perceived by most.

try to live right and help others from time to time.

I agree with you Joe..
If you were to make the biggest book ever written that for thousands of years people have read and then to for moral guide, you would obviously be talking about the bible..
Phil simply thinks that by reading the Bible and believing in what it says, he is in fact being moral, as millions of.people.before him have done.. do I agree with the Bible and what it has to say? Of course not! That's why I'm an atheist.. am I going to knock someone for believing in it and thinking they're being moral and just for doing so? Of.course not, so long as they don't push that shit on me, who cares..
I try to be open and excepting of everyone, but not everyone is there, nor do they want to be.. so long as their actions aren't hurting anyone, again, who cares.. and for the.life of me, I don't understand how a homosexual would be physically hurt by Phil Robertson saying they're not going to get into fairytale land, err, heaven..
New flash .. neither are the people who go to church six days a week as heaven is made up place in an effort to make humans feel better about their mean existence on earth imvho..
Live and let live.. do I understand that some white people don't like blacks, and some blacks don't like whites, and some people don't except gays? Sure as shit, so long as their actions don't have a negative impact on anyone's life, who cares, and imvho, saying gays won't get into heaven is so far from having a negative impact on someone's life it's such a non story it's not even funny..

i don't think he is hateful at all, quite the opposite.

he undoubtedly has a steadfast belief in a book whose text is over two thousand years old....anyone who falls into this category has some special problems to work out no question.
And that text is still very strong today.

I tried Genesis 3:16 in my house. That ruling over my wife didn't float. My life works better with mutual agreement and discussion. Also I'm not telling a woman that everything she touches while menstrating is unclean until the evening like Leviticus 15:19 30

I keep going into churches on Sundays and asking for a Eunuchs. Apparently that's frowned upon now, but the bible says it's ok. I just want a ball less boy around. What's wrong with that? Bible says it's ok.
