not one of you gives a rats ass about the gay community. every last one of you are up in arms over this comment. but not one thread have i seen from anyone, who supposedly "supports" homosexuality , about gay marriage being legalized in new mexico, or back a couple of months ago when the uk legalized it. or anytime when they do. you people only get pissed about someone saying something against gays because its the trend to do so. you dont really care.

I think most people view his comments as typical bible belt ignorance? And pass it off with a laugh. OOPS I went and spilled my redneck brain everywhere. Isn't that why we watch though? IMHO Phils statement about women having more to offer (Another different hole?) says to me that he likes a little backdoor action now and then with Ms. Kay. I thought his book banned that too??? Seems some here are more aggravated by others using free speech to condemn their scruffy hero than his 'speaking for God' stuff. The truest faith is one without religion.

7 pages and no one has been able to tell me how this guy's free speech was violated. For the 4th time, freedom of speech doesn't protect you from getting fired. The government is not stopping phil from saying what he wants, so freedom of speech has nothing to do with this. Its pretty simple.

Dog in this hunt, have we? Show me precisely where I am, "up in arms over this comment." There's the second falsification of your argument. Lastly acceptance of does not require evangelism for. As for ranking of care, precisely, we all have our own crosses to bear.

Merry Christmas :)

Well then let me be the first to enlighten you. I am a 57 year old heterosexual white male. I was raised by racist and homophobic parents. I was also a single father to a wonderful young woman now 26 since the age of 20 months. Raising her changed my view of the world and acceptance and tolerance for the beliefs and differences of others was a big part of that change. I am not sure about the nature/nurture argument and believe it is probably a combination and prefer to look at it in this way. You have the right as a human being to choose your own way and destiny in this one trip you have through life. In America those rights are clearly defined by our Constitution although often not followed, slavery, suffrage, Jim Crow to name a few. I don't have the right to tell someone else how they choose to live their life as long as it does not DIRECTLY impact my freedom to do the same. This does not include the irrational fear that exposing your children to other beliefs and lifestyles is poisonous. If you have a sound ethical foundation and live your beliefs your children will follow your ways. If you are judgmental and hypocritical then they will likely reject your beliefs and find their own way, that should be your fear. I have never in my life been threatened by anyone gay or otherwise who treated others with dignity and respect which has absolutely nothing to do with your sexuality. I envy anyone who is in a committed monogamous relationship that they find fulfilling because many heterosexuals ( like myself ) have difficulties doing so. Making judgments about people is a necessary life skill, it just seems to me that making a judgment based on this narrow criteria sets you up for failure.

What??? You have no idea what any of us do to champion our personal beliefs in equality. You don't know if we've marched in parades, counter-protested Westboro church, contacted our representatives, written letters to advertisers to voice our displeasure with tv shows they support, called out family/friends/coworkers for homophobic comments, fought the PTA to include LGBT literature in school libraries, donated to causes, or uploaded videos on the It Gets Better Project.

I'm sorry that you feel so unsupported, and that people are just jumping on the bandwagon for this issue. I can only speak for myself, but supporting the LGBT community and cause is not just a cool *trend* for me, and I'm sure there are other RIU members who are in agreement.

Hey! Where you been hiding?
Glad to see you back
Hubby stepped on the computer and cracked the screen-computer in the shop.

Then I had back to back to back northern visitors (wonder why?). I cannot tell you how much moola we spend to have them stay with us. And they expect you to stop work and show them the sights (that I've seen a hundred times) - I really dislike Sanibel.

n00b.

You weren't here, earlier this year -- you know, when we actually got vocal about support. You also aren't privy to our private conversations. Yesterday, 3 minutes after the Supreme Court's decision, I got my feed and sent out a text.

Prove not one of us "gives a rats[sic] ass" or you've proven you are no better than Phil, spreading hate and vitriol.

Instead of pointing the finger at others, emphatically stating that they "don't give a rats [sic] ass," why don't you prove that YOU give a rat's ass. Or, have I been away too long, and this is the best the new crop of trolls have to offer?

EDIT: And, the rest of the Ducky Klan are on board with Phil. They said "No phil, no duck-fuckers show." or some such. So, they're trying to break their contract, because he broke his. Sounds like a very un-Christian thing to do.

Yes people living their own life are somehow equal with those attempting to tell them how to live their lives. Seems like a whitewash to me. :spew:

The difference is in bigotry. Being gay isn't hating on straight people. "Breeder bashers" are just as fucked up and shitty as "gay bashers."
Oh my! You mean that's about gender preference and not simply people who have children? Certainly that would be a subset of the heterosexual, on the Venn diagram of sexuality, but not all of them..... Now I'm all confused........

WHY god, WHY am I such a shitty grower and my pot fucks me up soooooooooo badly!!

I bet ol Phil is wearing clothes of two different materials. According to levitcus 19:19 this is forbidden. If miss Kay ever put his coat on to go outdoors quickly she is an abomination according to deuteronomy 22:5. If their garden contains more than one kind of seed they are also in violation of Gods law.

The more I think about it the more I realize that maybe the west burrough baptist church is an actual representation of the righteous teaching of the Bible.

edit: I'm sure I'm not endearing myself to a few people with these posts. Alas I'm also very wrong in the fact that I don't believe a woman has to be quiet and submissive. Part of the worlds problems with war and violence is the fact that too many men have been in charge for far too long and a womans natural compassion has been nixt from the equation for far too long. I could see how the founders of America were threatened by the Haudenosaunee and their view on woman's rights and power.
