Deciphering...

"no offense, but I think people like you are dumb. If that insults you it isn't because I meant it as an insult. It insults you because you're dumb."
That's what this is really about. You seem to think I said that all soldiers are idiots. That's never what I meant.

I'd like to know what kind of risks you take at work Tokeprep (with all those credentials of yours). Does it involve being shot, or blown up?

That is exactly what you meant. Now go back and move the goal posts again by saying you only meant combat arms troops and only the ones who died.

You're losing this debate. Clearly your credentials are worthless.
I would say you're losing. You never showed that people in the military were "smart," which is what you've been arguing. You keep telling us it takes intelligence to be a soldier, which I've never disputed. My statement about soldiers being dumb is a relative one; it doesn't deny that they're intelligent, it makes a comparison to other groups of people.

So by redefinition of the word dumb, you were saying something totally different from what you've actually conveyed and therefore you're winning the debate.

Do they speak English in what?

Except it's really not what I meant. It's really not! There's nothing I can say at this point that's going to convince you of that because you're convinced you know what I meant.

The army has the lowest ASVAB score requirement and they waive people in at levels substantially below the stated requirement. The vast majority of the casualties in the last 10 years are from the army.
However, smarter recruits end up in more dangerous jobs.

I'm not redefining any words. Saying they're not as smart as people going to college is not the same as calling them retarded.

No, I'm arguing that combat arms troops are smarter on average than pogues. I never denied that most members of the army are dumber than a bag of hammers. This is evident through out the thread whereas your argument relies on a special definition of dumb in order to explicate.

But that doesn't mean anything, because my original point was about the military versus non-military.
