Humans are apex predators. We didn't evolve claws and sharp teeth, we evolved large powerful brains. That doesn't make us less of a predator. That's like saying chimps don't
really eat bugs because they have to use sticks to get at them. The ability to use tools is a huge evolutionary advantage.

This article actually refers to humans as 'superpredators'. We've caused the mass extinction of so many species it's not even comparable to other predatory species.
