The citric acid didn't burn the plans or seem to stress them so that is a plus. I will give them another hit this evening

I sprayed them down with citric acid this evening. If anything it seemed to piss those buggers off. Fingers crossed that it doesn't burn the plants.

Awesome. I'm going to give this a go right away. I'll save the pyrethrin as a last resort. Anything else work nothing? Light or dark? Let it sit? How often do you spray them?

I think I might try to run a little trial. A few with Safer's End All and a few with the citric acid mix. I'm not thrilled about the pyrethrins in the End All but I figure that it will work. Plus I suspect I might have some caterpillars too so the pyrethrins should help with that too. Sounds...

I found this Citric acid is often mixed with Isopropyl alcohol to make a spray that dehydrates and kills on contact. Simply mix around 3 teaspoons of powdered citric acid per quart of water and spray the plants, particularly the undersides of the leaves where they tend to congregate.

Thoughts on insecticidal soap? I can't seem to find a straight answer about using it during flowering.

Good call on the thrips. I identified them on the plants. How about these black flies in the second photo? Aphids? What are my options for dealing with the thrips this late into flower and outdoors?
