Budley, I'm a big believer in pondzyme. I used it before and with hydroguard and aquashield with great results. I do not monitor res temps, ever, and I do not remove and clean systems between harvests.

Rope caulk (in window and door insulation section at lowes) is by far the best way to seal a tote. Very cheap and easy to use. I have used it for 6 or 7 years with no problems.

I would like to point out that I have not cleaned a system in over a year and use no chillers or temperature control for the res's with no root issues at all. The hydroguard and pondzyme work great.

the question I have is, why the hell would you need 20 minutes to change a bucket? get another bucket or container that you're using and fill it then just transfer over the lid. my roots are exposed for about 5 seconds

I would recommend for your next grow that you add silica. it makes a huge difference in the strength of the plant. for my DWC plants that routinely hit four to six ounces I never worry about tying them up and only use two inch net pots

I run 8 50 gal res's and 12 5gal buckets and never even check water temps. In fact, I have not cleaned a system in 12 months and with no worries of rot or root problems. Hydroguard at 3ml per gal and pondzyme makes life so much easier

Yes, on the more nutes. I run about 25-30% more in rails than I do in dwc because when roots are in constant contact with nutes less is needed

That stuff will make a terrible reflectorreflector, you get hot spots and refraction.
