The most efficient way to do any job is with the fewest steps of energy transfer. If I need to cool air, I'll use a refrigeration system built to shift heat from air into the refrigerant directly. Chilling water with a refrigeration unit to then cycle through a radiator to then pick up heat from...

    Molasses in rockwool?

Magic sauces are usually of questionable benefit. Unless the maker tells you what's in them to give you a general idea of the function of the particular magic sauce, you should give them a miss. Fortunately, a lot of the sauce makers will tell you up front that their sauce contains sugars. Makes...

I freaking hate hot. You can always get warm in a cold place but absent spending a motza on aircon, getting cool in a hot place is much more difficult. Sounds a bit stereotypical, but I actually DO live in a cave on the side of a mountain. Free aircon up here at 3000ft. :) Last place I lived...

Drip - overwatering problems. Experienced persons wanted.

Gotcha. As bore water goes, yours isn't too bad. The sulfur content would annoy me for drinking, but the plants will do OK as long as you bring the pH down to 5.8. Sulfur is a micronute, btw. You can do up to 4 per sf in SoG. I don't go quite that dense in my op, about 2.6 plants/sq ft. Not low...

oh, ok. Just get a digital timer. They allow single minute on-times and multiple programs per day. Any hdwe store has 'em. Oh, I can help you with that! Don't bother with RO! If you are using municipal tap water, it's not needed. Nothing in city water that's going to hurt a hydro op. If you're...

Drip - overwatering problems. Experienced persons wanted.

What 'fixtures'? This is as complex as a flood system needs to be. One pump, one timer, one tank, one tray, one fill & one drain tube from the overflow. Will water any number of plants and is much easier to deal with come bi-weekly nute dump and replacement. Why drain to waste? Most flood...

yes indeed, I know my shit! Brown, lumpy, smells bad. :D There's a gazillion ways to water a plant. Some methods better suit some styles of growing, but for the most part, if it wets the roots, the job's done. :D SoG just happens to work well with plants in pots of some sort of media, watered...

If you're doing SoG (flowering clones immediately after they set root, no veg time), pots can be really rather small as the plants will be rather small. SoG plants finish up about 30-40" tall, which tailors them to artificial lighting. Even the mighty 1000HPS can only penetrate foliage so...

AL B. Fuct bud dryer box and curing

I'm managing a few (non cannabis) websites and helping some community radio stations with tech work. Keeps me off the streets. ;)

AL B. Fuct bud dryer box and curing

Thanks for the greets. :) I never left, actually. I just don't have 6-8 hours a day to put in to answering grow questions. Got a couple hours once a week or so to put into it, but I do nose around from time to time.

Doing OK, thanks. :) You? Funny thing is, since my 'job' involves me sitting right here as I am now (doing some website admin krap), it's not much different than spending the week screwing around on RIU.

    Nut problem or Plant problem?

several problems... Cuttings taken from a plant in flower are notoriously difficult to strike, but worse, the plants (if you can get them to root) will already be in flowering mode, meaning they won't gain height or size- they'll just try to make buds. They'll have to be revegged under 18+h/day...

    PBP soil in hydro???

No soil in any hydro ops, especially not flood systems. Grit will be carried though the system and will destroy the water pump/s. Seriously, reconsider use of organic nutes. You can't use H2O2 with organics and H2O2 is the most effective method of pathogen control.

I'd prefer 5 min watering durations each hour during lights-on.

Drip - overwatering problems. Experienced persons wanted.

You should never water during lights-off. Transpiration all but stops in lights-off and the plants will get by in the moisture in the rootmass.

Drip - overwatering problems. Experienced persons wanted.

Yep, that's the problem. Rockwool is highly absorbent and can only be watered about 1x/day. Once the roots are out of the cube and it has been planted in pellets which are frequently watered, the cube is redundant and no longer needs watering. The roots will knit into the damp pellets in no...

    Molasses in rockwool?

Molasses should never be used in a hydroponic system. Plants can not use sugars as a nutrient. While there's a limited scientifically-based case for use of molasses in soil to feed certain microbes which break down organic matter into elemental nutrients that plants CAN use, along with...

AL B. Fuct bud dryer box and curing

Not recommended. 'Curing' isn't necessary and the main purpose of the bud dryer is to remove moisture quickly to stop any possibility of mould. Constant air motion is what stops mould even while the moisture content in the buds is still high enough to support mould growth. Mould spores are...

no wucking furries. :) oh shit, is MacGuyver DEAD?! Now, that would upset me, completely unlike the loathing and contempt I have for recently departed paedophiles... Seriously, there were inventive people around long before the popularity of the MacGuyver show (and later, Mythbusters)...
