Thats actually a fallacy, its proven that without rest the plant will slow down photosynthesis to catch up. Any more than 20/4 youre wasting money for the returns you get.

If i had a canopy that far across growing out of control id take a small diameter stick to supercrop the tips all in the same spot roughly, slow down top growth a bit. If i want to slow them down ill leave a little extra foliage to cut off during stretch as well. Just my .02 on the few minor...
