if you use the FF soil and BMO you are good to go, nothing else fertilizer wise is necessary.

do you have access to fox farm's ocean blend? if not you want something that is ph balanced around 6.2 or so. Most hydro shops carry the Fox Farm stuff. here's the site.... http://www.foxfarmfertilizer.com/products_soils1.html

I agree those plants look sickly and should be put out of their misery...i'm not saying that trimming or lollipoping is good or bad, but those won't produce much in the end...regardless of what you say. we've been gardening since 75 and have tried so many methods and procedures and some worked...
