I agree. You can amend the soil yourself with worm casting, guano, alfafa meal, kelp, green sand, crushed oyster shell, etc. and have the same mix. Do it in advance and let the ingredients break down and do their thing.

Mine was still in her first pot. It took about a cup of water to drench the soil. I added a 1/16 teaspoon per cup. A gallon equals 16 cups so that'd be one teaspoon. A little extra mag won't hurt your plants. That should be pretty close to right on the measurement though.
