    Organic issue

Both can be causing this, or even the minerals in the water itself. Get yourself one of those probes that tells you moisture content and pH levels. Is this happening with all plants, or only some plants? If only specific plants, it could be overwatering, or simply finicky genetics. If it's most...

Organic no till soil emitting CO2?

I have also had readings of 1500-2000ppm with nothing but soil. And this was in a tent that was not sealed. CO2 is a natural byproduct of the decomposition process and, in fact, is a sign that your soil is working as intended. Did you let the soil sit for a few days prior to mixing...

Which one do you preffer between GREAT WHITE SHARK, AZOS,MYCOS WP to use in supersoil and WHY?

Aside from Azos, those are all mycorrhizae products, which are totally useless when added into the soil. Ignore the bags of soil that say "mycorrhizae inside", a lie and crappy marketing gimmick. You see, mycorrhizae (shorted to mykos from hereon out) only works when applied directly to the...

    Deficient/Excess Nutrients...Unsure

Happy to help. Just remember to wear a mask and protection, or you'll be coughing up a storm lol.

    Deficient/Excess Nutrients...Unsure

Sure it isn't just fungus gnats? Either way, boil some habaneros in water, strain the mix, put it in a spray bottle, and nuke those fuckers! But, the gnats are just part of the problem. Where there are gnats, there is overwatering. Unfortunately, this is why you don't want to start such...

    Guidance on medium improvement

If I had to guess, the cooking is why you're experiencing deficiencies so early. None of your ingredients really need to be "cooked" as they're light and available immediately upon coming into contact with water and soil. They're not "hot", and therefore don't need to be "cooked" prior to use...

converting anaerobic soil to aerobic soil

Totally safe once you aerate it some more. Don't dump it or throw it away. Dump the soil out and mix it up, mixing and turning multiple times a day. Once the bad smell is replaced with the good smell, you'll be okay to use it. However, you will have to re-amend it a little bit as you're mixing...

Growing with purely peat, pumice, compost and worm castings?

    3) I'll have to look into him, its a name I'm unfamiliar with, but I'm always eager to learn and absorb. Most of my information stems from reading various 200-400 page thread with Clackamas Coots posting in them, as well as my own personal failures and successes. I could be WAY wrong here about...

Growing with purely peat, pumice, compost and worm castings?

Hey man, forgive the delayed response, you know how life gets. Not only a joy to talk to others about one's own passions, but bouncing ideas of one another is crucial for development. Love discussions like this; especially since you never know who they may help down the line in a few years...

The capabilities of a simple soil (Outdoor edition)

Pictured below is the Holy Grail Kush from DNA Genetics. Another winner from DNA Genetics, and my new favorite of theirs. Definitely one of their best strains, as they said. This one was somewhat vulnerable to bugs, and started foxtailing on me during the last few weeks. Likely because of the...

The capabilities of a simple soil (Outdoor edition)

Hey everyone. Sorry I've been too busy to post like I said I would. Got some spare time and I'm going to finally give strain/smoke reports on all the different stuff I grew this last round outdoors. First up is Greenpoint Seeds. I grew 3 of their strains; 6 Citron, 6 Lemon Tree Punch, and 4...

Growing with purely peat, pumice, compost and worm castings?

Woah man, that's a trip! Cool story for sure. Interesting thing about "folklore" from civilizations as old as Mexico; there is typically much truth in them. The "guardian tree" definitely makes a lot of sense. It is something I have personally witnessed in not just my yard, but the desert...

How should I use Neem Seed Meal in conjunction with other fertilizers

Guano should have broken down plenty in 4 weeks, you should be fine adding neem. Could even just top dress the neem instead of mixing it in the soil, less work that way. If you're concerned about the NPK of the Neem (5-1-1, if I recall?) then you can just source Karanja Meal and use that...

What amendment to add to soil to help with high cal.

The box recommends 1tsp per gallon of soil if I'm not mistaken. I do about that much, sometimes more for those heavy feeders. And I only apply it once a month on average, unless we're talking huge plants, then I apply bi-weekly. If I had to guess, it being too strong is likely because it was...

Growing with purely peat, pumice, compost and worm castings?

Cover crops are great, you can even use them during the on-season. In some instances, things like Comfrey and other deep-rooting cover crops can become invasive and quickly take things over. However, simply yank them up by the roots and compost them so that they don't hog all of the soil and...

What amendment to add to soil to help with high cal.

That's what is so amazing about Langbeinite, the Sulfur in it is readily available in "Sulfate" form. Elemental Sulfur takes months to oxidize the Sulfur into SO4 (Sulfate), where as Gypsum and Langbeinite are both sulfates [CaSO4 and K2Mg2(SO4)3, respectively]. Even then, the sulfates...

What amendment to add to soil to help with high cal.

Langbeinite. Has Sulfur in the form of Sulfates to help break apart some of that Calcium, and the high levels of Mg and K will help balance out the excess Ca levels. Both my native dirt and well water have loads of Calcium in it, I'd be boned without Langbeinite.

The capabilities of a simple soil (Outdoor edition)

As you may have noticed from some of the earlier photos, many of my vegetable plants are coming back! This is that Amish Paste tomato plant that I yanked out of my old bed and replanted here. It actually survived through the winter and is ready to rock and roll! Just need to trim a few...

The capabilities of a simple soil (Outdoor edition)

Indoor is pretty standard and chugging along rather nicely. Had a little bug infestation a few weeks back, but nothing too serious, just white flies and leaf miners. Habanero spray took care of that in no time. Fortunately I caught them prior to week 3, so it shouldn't effect my yields too...

The capabilities of a simple soil (Outdoor edition)

Lot been happening the past few weeks over here for me. I haven't been posting much because in the past few weeks since my last post, I've done the following: - Harvested, trimmed, and jarred all of the 2g pots (Greenpoint seeds and various Attitude strains I'll review later) - Transplanted...
