What distance are you running your COB’s

if you ran the crees at 100W which they are plenty capable of, they would be basically indistinguishable from the veros to your plants

Luminus CXM-32 Gen3 the next big thing??

elgs are strange birds. my elg240h-48A went way over what it should have even on 110 input where it should be significantly derated

What distance are you running your COB’s

depends on cob spacing for the most part. my rule of thumb is distance to canopy should be at least as much as the distance between cobs if your cobs are 18" apart and you are 12" from canopy you will have areas of lower light intensity in between them

    Spectrometer and new COB

it all depends on the efficacy. peopel have used blurples for a long time but went to whites primarily for efficiency. if these use the new high efficiency reds they may be better than whites. most people i see augmenting with reds are using a predominantly white spectrum. there are other...

max i can get with the new chips using citi simulator (wont let you operate outside of acceptable Tj): 1825 : 522W max on 1825@8750 mA/ 79C Tc 3618 : 778W max on 3618@6300 mA/ 32C Tc youd most likely need watercooling to get close to 800W out of it im not sure where they get 837W on the...

Luminus CXM-32 Gen3 the next big thing??

never tested them. just the cxm22 and the cxm27 im not a big fan of the big LES cobs for our application

320w QB vs 300w Vero COB, what do you choose?

what cobs were they. its possible your 16 cobs were more efficient than the 6 boards

    Spectrometer and new COB

i know that boards are all the rage but advancements like this is why ive been a major proponent of cobs on a standard package size. in the next 12 mos we will have new 28mm models of cree, luminus, citi, and probably b-lux and others. so any cob rig built in the last 5 years around this common...

i contacted my guys at cecol to see whats up with US availability. I'm shying away from CLU058s for now they seem to be a lot more fragile ive had half a dozen gen6 drop rows (out of a few hundred chips). Did not see this problem with Gen5s. CLU048s are nearly indestructible in all cases and...

will be interesting to see if they can back these up with LM80 data seems like its a fundamental improvement in the dies made my Nichia so im wondering what other mfrs will be seeing these @welight? who else uses those dies? @nevergoodenuf where can i get one of those to test? can you split...

    Spectrometer and new COB

kelvin range tells you nothing about the overall spectrum. you can get K from an overall spectrum plot but not the other way around there are vastly different spectrums that can make a given K temp look at a 3000K 80 cri cob vs a 3000K 90 cri cob vs a 3100K CMH, or a 2200K HPS mixed with a...

Ordering Parts for two quantum boards tonight, need feedback before I pull the trigger

its basically heat dissipation. there is not a single LED in existence where the efficacy doesnt improve when the current is lowered. a rule of thumb is if you cut current in half, efficacy will go up ~10% very slight differences between 3000 and 4000K plants dont use lumens, they use PAR...
