    Sudden wilting

Make sure she's got plenty of water. If it's getting really hot outdoor and the Sun is beating down on her the leaves will wilt. That is her way of protecting herself from the Heat and conserve moisture. I had a pumpkin last year that did that all through July.

Just lightly packing with your hand put the layer of sand on top. Just be careful when watering don't pour in too much too fast because it will mix everything all together or you will end up with a big hole in your sand. Water slow and easy. Don't disturb the layer of sand

For fungus gnats you can use a layer of sand on top of your soil. You can also use perlite this will prevent them from going in the soil and laying eggs.

Need help please going round and round

Don't follow the charts recommendations. Each plant is different watch them for deficiencies and toxicities. Feeding plants in containers can be tricky. Watch each one and see what it tells you. You said you have experience gardening treat them like you would your other plants if you notice...

18 Watts doesn't seem like much. If the package says 18 Watts it may not be pulling 18 Watts from the wall, it could be a lot less. So in my opinion yes you probably do need more light if you are using the LED bulbs that go in a standard light socket I know the footprint on those are very small...

    Feedback appreciated

you're welcome. Anytime. Your plants look great. keep up the good work. I love to see people growing this plant. The more of us that grow it the better off we are. This is the most versatile plant on earth. It can be used for so much. It is such a shame that it is so demonized.
