Anyone tried caveman seeds on com.au domain? There are just few you can find through Google that seem to be located in Australia and sell through their own website. The rest bunch that are stuffing all search results are just empty websites where you click buy it and they redirect you to USA or...

Want to try hydroponics, need some guidance.

So far I have no success but it is more likely related to seeds I use. I have 100s of feminised seeds from my first grow about 5 years ago. They worked well 3 years after I got them but now they are not germinating. I have got only 1 seedling out of 20 I tried to germinate but it is just stuck...

Want to try hydroponics, need some guidance.

Thank you guys. I have bought a DWC system with 5x 21L buckets so basically it is a 4 plants system. I can always add an extra buckert or two to it but at least I know I won't be packing a lot of plants into a small space with 2L pots.

Want to try hydroponics, need some guidance.

So are you saying that 1.9L pots even with a mesh bottom that will let roots to go through into a main container won't get me any decent harvest? I have buckets already I just do not have time to go and buy all components and build it myself. I assume I may save $50 over $200 system sold but I...

Want to try hydroponics, need some guidance.

I have been growing indoor in soil harvesting from 1 to 3.5 ounces per plant under QBs. Now I want to try to grow hydroponically(if that's even a word? :-)) I have a budget under $300 AUD to purchase a system and I even got a scientist who developed good nutrients for hydroponic and is going to...

    HLG LED

I have two lights similar to HLG 288(same qbs, just not from HLG) and I have no problems with heat. I also have Viparspectra (3x600W and 1x1200). I can say for sure Viparspectra lights produce way more heat than QBs. I have a heatsink though on each but as explained above they do not remove...

Learnt my lesson with 3000k for vegging: DO NOT use it at this stage.

I was thinking it would be faster considering it's QBs but it was not. May be it is not because 3000K does not have a strong blue spectrum. However it does not explain why they have started growing quite noticeably only after I added extra light with more blue.

Do I need to apologize for forcing you to read it?

Learnt my lesson with 3000k for vegging: DO NOT use it at this stage.

I get what you are saying about a seedling and too much light. However how does it correlate with a real environment? The Sun does not dim itself out because there are some seedlings in soil. It hits them with about 100000 lux and seedlings outdoor do not stop growing because of that. How half...

Learnt my lesson with 3000k for vegging: DO NOT use it at this stage.

Your pictures are exactly what I have now. My two autos look similar in size and development like yours shown sitting in fabric pots and other four look like yours in cups. But I guess yours are much younger than mine. The problem is I have always given seedlings about 45K lux and they have...

Learnt my lesson with 3000k for vegging: DO NOT use it at this stage.

They were under less intense light(mine boards are dimmable). It did not change a bit. Back then I thought it less than needed light so I set them to full output. The boards were at 24' height. Now they are about 35 inches above with the bluerpie added and getting about 45000 lux, Even if I am...

Learnt my lesson with 3000k for vegging: DO NOT use it at this stage.

Did not expect it but I did not know that 3000k sucks so much for vegging. It makes seedlings to grow so slow that it makes you thinking that there is some other problems. Planted 2 seeds almost two weeks ago and added four more seeds 5 days later. Some of them are 10 days old from popping up...

Germinating seeds how long should you wait?

I tried three methods with water + peroxide and all produced the same result. I will call it water below but keep in mind it has had peroxide added to it. 1. Putting seeds in a cup with water and leaving them on a window seal 2. Putting seeds in a wet with water paper towel(between layers) and...

Germinating seeds how long should you wait?

And nothing happens to a root. Tried it on about 30 seeds and almost all germinated. Picked up randomly 8 from 30 and all grew into nice plants, they have been harvested already(2-3 ounces per plant) . Actually all but one which was just hard to flower. For some reason similar seeds(the same...

Germinating seeds how long should you wait?

If you use hydrogen peroxide (about 2-3ml on a cup it will crack a shell within 48 hours even on bad seeds. I have tested it a few times and it have always worked.

    HLG240H 48B drivers stopped dimming

What about HLG lights? They supply their lights with a driver mounted on a heatsink. It does not look like they consider it an issue. As for connectors and tightening wires I am going to do it. I want to replace KingBright connectors for AC wires with a normal black one. It should make at...

    HLG240H 48B drivers stopped dimming

No I did not solder because each pot came with two wires soldered to it. Then by using supplied connectors they were supposed to be joined with the driver dimming wires via these connectors. However soldering dimming wires directly to the pot pins will do a better job and it will eliminate any...

    HLG240H 48B drivers stopped dimming

We checked the driver diagram and my friend told me that for dimming to work it should be from 1 to 10V. Then he asked me to add a 9v battery to a circuit and told me how to connect it all together. The idea was to check that pots were actually working even though my multimeter said they were...

    HLG240H 48B drivers stopped dimming

After about 20 minutes the heatsink was not getting hotter than 65 degrees C and stayed at this level for 5 minutes. It may be going to change with the right light orientation and hours of running it on but so far it is not bad.
