    Soil mix question

That much EWC and compost might make your soil a little too heavy and muddy. Think about using more peat and aeration and a little less compost/ewc for a fluffier, better draining mix.

For all those saying 8 weeks is too long to veg in soil…

Solid work for your first time. How long are you going to flower? Are you still feeling patient?

How do I use this fertilizer?

Maybe you could start your young, small plants in small pots with just the base ProMix Herb and Veggie soil. You could (theoretically) start in 1 gallon pots to grow a nice, dense root ball for a couple weeks while your plants get going. After about 3 weeks you could transplant into bigger...

    First time grower seeking help.

It kinda looks like Low Magnesium That starts as yellowing between the veins on the leaves. Then the yellow spreads as the edges of your leaves dry up and turn brown. Does that sound like what's happening? I looked at the internet real fast, and didn't see any mention of Magnesium in Gia...

    First time grower seeking help.

Water Res? What sort of grow method are you using? Just in case you're in some kind of SIP setup; Did you top-water your plants after the top dressing?

Study shows 14% increase in tomato yields with interlighting

OK, now I feel like I understand things a little better. Thanks, team.

Study shows 14% increase in tomato yields with interlighting

So when we're talking about "Penetration" there's like "Angle of Incidence" where light is coming from many angles. And lower leaves arrange themselves to take advantage of the photons that come in at the right angle. More sources of light increase this effect. Then there is "Penetration," like...

Study shows 14% increase in tomato yields with interlighting

High wire crops are grown like 10 feet tall with the lights way up high. The bottoms of the plants could easily be 14-16 feet away from the lights. LEDS in between the rows could be 8 or 10 feet closer to the bottoms of the plants than the overhead lights. In this kind of set up they wouldn't...

    Build a soil with these

Have you seen Down to Earth's "Vegan Mix"? IT's a pre-made blend with most of the stuff you mentioned. What soil are you using as your base? Some pre-made stuff you're looking to beef up with extra amendments? Or are you starting from scratch with fresh peat moss? If I was making my own mix...

    PPM Inexplicably Rising

I think that the current popular opinion is that once nutrients are taken up by the plant, they stay there. They can't be "expelled" or "drawn out." But last week I was watching a video with science dude Harley Smith. Harley talked about a time when EC kept rising in his reservoir. He theorized...

Ammending pro mix hp w doctor earth dry nutes

Yeah! No nutrients for the tiny seedlings in the solo cup! How much fertilizer did you put into your little cups? Are they still in solo cups? Maybe move them up to 1 gallon pots with just pro-mix. Give them a couple weeks to chill out and grow nice roots. Then you can decide what to do next.

    Jumping in with both feet....

Your mix looks good. Mixing EWC and Compost is a good idea. Slightly more aeration than compost is good too. If your soil is a little light and your plants get hungry you can always top dress with more neem/kelp and compost. As long as your microbes are kicking it doesn't take long for plant...

New to organic, any organic bud hardener’s

You might think about dimming your light a little to slow down the fox tailing. If you like at science nerd stuff like Daily Light Integral, weed is supposed to like the most light during week 6 of flowering. Then maybe 10% less after 7 weeks and maybe 10% less than that after week 8. Your...

    Organic material compost question

If you're going to make a regular old compost pile in your yard anyway, I would just mix those old ass fruit scraps into the pile. That stuff will bring tons of worms and make your compost extra dank. I would mix up the greens and browns and let the pile heat up, and once it cools off add the...

Fox Farms dry nutrietns help please?

Yeah, as far as fertilizer that stuff does just fine by itself. I also like to add some worm castings or compost a couple times to keep the microbes kicking. Sorry for the late reply.

Drying and curing, just curious if it’s different for Organics

The only air intake is what comes under the closet door? I would definetly try to get some more fresh air into the grow space. You don't want it all stuffy in there. What kind of lighting are you using, and how are your temperatures during flowering? How far from the lights are your plants...

Many have driven themselves to madness trying to walk this path. I would forget all about it and pick, Soil or DWC.

Having problems in my grow. Help PLZ

I think you need more EWC and Compost. In your pics, except for the trouble spot, your plant's leaves are very deep green. Like they have plenty of foods. An you mentioned top dresses, teas and feedings. So I would rule out deficiencies, or not having enough nutrients and focus on what is...

    Worm question

I would leave the pile and the worms outside. Grab some "Compost Starter" from the hardware store. Its usually kelp and alfalfa meal inoculated with some kind of Lacto Bacillus bacteria. The bacteria will help break down your leaves to usable compost. The bacteria also attracts lots worms, and...
