Seedling taking forever to grow & has weird looking first true leaves. What is the cause?

I'd say it was a pH problem. My guess....the pH is too low. I'm just coming out of dealing with a similar issue.

    Experienced Grower Advice

I just got done adding several TBSP of lime and a small bag of bio-char to the FF base mix (FFOF and FFHF) to try and calm it down (up?) to a better pH. My poor plants are starting to look a bit better, but there must have been some kind of blueberry fertilizer in the bag or something! I can't...

    Experienced Grower Advice

I'm with you. I don't know what happened on this run, but the mix I made using FF as a base soil, seemed to create an extreme acid pH in the mix. I am in the middle of trying to get things back to normal, but I think next run will be Roots Organic or some other kind.

Why won't my plants go into flower or show sex ??

I can already see that the plants are not getting any light from at least two sides (the house and that tank-thing). If they aren't getting enough light then that's probably why they are reluctant to flower.

Is real sour diesel still clone only?

I may be entirely wrong, but I can't imagine there are any "original" ANYTHING out there, anymore. As far as I know, most of the original strains that are now legendary, disappeared before any kind of concentrated effort to maintain and stabilize anything. By the time anyone got to that point...

Help!!!! I messed up when topping!

Like some others have said....just let it grow out of it. These plants can take a lot of abuse. They have adapted methods to deal with things like getting chewed by animals or insects....or humans. ;)

    Buds smell like tea .

The longer you can flower them, the better. There really isn't a substitute for fully ripening the flowers -IF you want the best flavor and smell. If you're in a hurry and harvest too soon, then you'll get underripe or let's say "green" tastes....same goes for most fruits and vegetables, too...

Need advice on grow tent size

I have only purchased lights over the years from people who have been vetted by this forum. I've read posts where people were ripping each other apart over which lights they were/weren't using. Apache Tech was the gold standard at that time....(and now they hardly ever get a mention). Vero, Cree...

Need advice on grow tent size

What I don't understand is how someone who wants to START an indoor grow (for the first time), will opt for such a large space. What is your growing experience? You might want to consider starting smaller and seeing how that goes, first. I am only growing enough for my own personal use and my 2...

    WOW! BAD pH issues!!

I amend my soil mix with Mother Earth Coco Loco -which also has perlite in it....and is SUPPOSED to be rinsed. I've always used coco in my soil-less soil mixes and i've pretty much always mixed the soil the same way for at least the last 10 years or so. Well....;lesson learned and hopefully I...

    WOW! BAD pH issues!!

Actually I indicated that I thought I DID get a lockout. I knew it couldn't be a deficiency because the soil has plenty of nutrients in it that could not have been depleted at this point in the grow. So, the nutrients are in there, but can't be absorbed because of the low pH. I have now amended...

    WOW! BAD pH issues!!

I also took a spoonful of the soil and added water to it and let the soil separate from the water and then drew up some of the clear liquid and used the drops to test it. -same deal. I don't know exactly what the pH is, but I can see that the runoff is at least an indication of what's probably...

    WOW! BAD pH issues!!

And one more weird thing is that, when I checked the root ball on one of the plants that turned out male, it (the root ball) was also very healthy. I have the HLG 300 red spec at 18" and dimmed down to somewhere around 50% so it's not the light that's doing it. The temps are right. The RH is...

    WOW! BAD pH issues!!

What I don't get is why the plants started out growing so well in the same, exact soil mix! Yep same here! I never bothered with any of that crap. But something was definitely going wrong and I couldn't figure it out. But, man...~4.0 pH is extremely acidic. Maybe if I was growing...

Full Moon Harvesting? Worth the wait?

from Quora: "Why is tide larger at new Moon or full Moon? That's because then, the Sun and Moon are on the same line and their force is combined. When the Moon is new, it is on the same side of the Earth as Sun is. When is full Moon, the Moon is exactly opposed to the Sun, but anyway, on the...

-just ordered some lime so I can add it to the remaining soil mix. Damn!

    WOW! BAD pH issues!!

My plants were growing like Vikings....and then, all of a sudden, they started to stall out and turn yellow. I knew it wasn't nutrient deficiency, so I figured there must be some kind of lockout happening. I normally grow with the standard FFOF and FFHF soils that I usually amend with some...

Gavitas 1700e - Dark Period Turns on and off for split second. Anyone else experience this?

I'm not an electrician, but it sounds like your controller is the problem. Unless the circuit is open, or there is some kind of capacitor releasing a charge after the system is turned off, I don't see how the lights could turn on. I use a mechanical timer and always have. I have no idea about...

Full Moon Harvesting? Worth the wait?

What if it was really cold outside when the moon was full? And if you are growing indoors, then none of the other environmental conditions are "natural", anyway. IF there was any natural, lunar-influence to begin with, it would be overridden by all the other "synthetic" ones associated with...
