I really need a more energy efficient light help

I hang high and only go about 30W/ft2. If you're seeing stress then raise the lights (could dim too), and raise RH. Baby em back. Check ppms and pH also, applying a flush is an option if need be. Dilute nute ratio if in hydro till ppms start dropping (the plant is consuming ions then and that's...

I know alot of stuff. But there is alot of stuff I just dont know.

Spectrum & environmental conditions. You can match enviro, but your spectrum, uniform intensity, angle of trajectory, ect is not the same as the sun. Dilute your nute ratio (super soil -> inert soil ratio) or increase RH, or both, to offset.

Article talking about harvest times. The author had his herb tested at different harvest times and the results are interesting. https://bigbudsmag.com/marijuana-harvesting-for-multiple-highs-cannabinoids-terpenoids/ TBH you don't gain any significant weight between an early harvest and a late...

I really need a more energy efficient light help

Kingbrite ect for pre made lights (sometimes the name brand guys have good sales going too, good to check, hit or miss), or a DIY custom build for the ultimate deal in price vs performance. If you want better efficiency than HPS, but don't want to spend the $$ for the ultimate, then buying...

¿Ready or Not ready? Judge the Youtubers.

I've let shit go for 17 weeks in bloom. They'll keep sprouting white hairs and continue to foxtail for weeks passed the prime ripe state. #5 is definitely done imo. When to harvest is highly influenced by personal preference but the main factors that I go by are the color of the trichs and...

#2 is close, could go longer, but it's close to a chop for me. I like a more energetic high. Decent size and foxtailing already. Some of #3 is a chop for me, but there are many green buds close by to want to chop it all. #5 is a chop. Give #1, #4, #6 & #7 at least a week or two to finish...

LED and driver setup, will it work?

Bottom left shows 16S18P, and slightly above you can see the strips are populated with LM561C (It's similar to a QB288 except in a strip form factor, and using 288 LM561C instead of 288 LM301B) Generic LM561C Vf vs I chart A datasheet Vf of 46V (but at 2.24A) multiplied by 5 strips yields...

LED and driver setup, will it work?

The 46V forward voltage is in reference to a 2.2A current as opposed 2.1A. Also, the drivers have a little more V/I than rated for. The only ambiguity comes when maxing the driver out, but even still, should be good. @Templeman420 Use 16awg wire if you can. Thin long wires will steal voltage...

LED and driver setup, will it work?

Ya should work fine if you wire in series.

What light recipe is the best plant LED grow light spectrum?

It's the approximate UV action spectrum for stomatal conductance of broad bean. Idk if broad bean contains UVR8. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. TBH many things absorb UVB well and will have similar looking absorption spikes near the UVB end of the spectrum regardless of whether or not they...

    BroScience Bullshit - Post here

Not Bro Science: It has been demonstrated that cannabis can have a beneficial drought response. To the effect of ~10%+ of key cannabinoid concentrations. Stop watering about week 6 till leaves wilt ~50% from normal, and then start watering again to finish out.

What light recipe is the best plant LED grow light spectrum?

@Kassiopeija That's actually the UV action spectra for broad bean stomatal conductance (and with a +/- 20% error possibility). Not the UVR8 spectra. Made me do a double take when I saw that haha anyways hopefully this clears it up.

    301B strips - Kingbrite 1280 pcs (0.45watt) Vs Umol/Meijiu 2400 pcs (0.25watt) which is best

Ya the Sammy 5K are more efficient. The 5K spectrum exhibits less efficacy (quantum & luminous) but the data sheet difference in efficiency seems to make up for it. You're right. I wasnt taking individual chip efficiency into account. CREE seems to have come a ways since I last took a peek if...

Competent grow room electrical advice needed

Tasmota is a webserver program/os/interface for controlling the GPIOs of the MC that its loaded onto. You flash/upload Tasmota to the MC/device of your choice (or buy preloaded devices) and after the device boots you will see it broadcasting (2.4ghz), and once you connect to this network you can...

Competent grow room electrical advice needed

You can use a LL MOSFET to hold back 12VDC from a power brick until 3.3V is applied to the gate. If MC pin Vmax is 3.3V & pin Imax is 16mA, or a total of 52mW, then a requirement of 12V @ 7.5mA, or 90mW, is not possible to achieve with a boost converter. You can boost the V but at a loss of I...

Plasma lights the next step forward

Poor efficiency but nice wide spectrum. 1,100W over 100ft2 is ~11W/ft2. That's rather low average intensity. They also have to be hung higher like other HID to create a uniform spread which means the irradiance drops even further. You'd want multiple of them in a 10×10 imo. Fluorescent lights...

What light recipe is the best plant LED grow light spectrum?

Where'd you get that UVR8 spectra? Edit - Also I think HPS have a huge 820nm spike, I think like 2× greater than the next tallest peak? I think possibly a big difference between sunlight and artificial is the angle of penetration. At canopy, sunlight and artificial might have matching...
