Oxygen generator vs air stone? Concepts and DIY approaches.

Sorry, I just cant believe that. Im ok with you believing non-scientific theories about DO and CO2 in water, but if that kind of increase in yield was even remotely possible, the big guys would be all over it in a flash. Seriously, that would be major big news in agribusiness. You really...

Just switched to Jack's 5-12-26 with great results

Interesting. Your the first person I have heard say that. My plants seem perfectly happy with the mag included. No signs of mag excess. What PPM's are you running? Im the odd man out with my aero system. I never get above EC 0.5-0.6 or 250-300 PPM - and that includes my tap water at 100 PPM...

HPA DIY first system question/ newbie

How much room you need for each plant depends to some degree on the length of the grow. That pic with the super full chamber from a single plant was a C99 mostly sativa plant that I let veg for a loooong time. Total grow time was something like 5 months. Im now only growing autos with a max of...

Oxygen generator vs air stone? Concepts and DIY approaches.

Im not sure where you are getting your information, but DO is entirely dependent on temperature, air pressure and salinity - nothing else. No amount of aeration, injection, nano-bubbles or anything else can force extra oxygen - or C02 - into water. This link has several charts...

Please Help. Dwc and Ebb and Flow

They dont look under fed to me. I see signs of nute imbalance or lock out or something, but that is likely your tap water as a guess. Based on everything you have told us, I cant think of anything else.

best way to protect root rot from the beginning

This. Organic anything is a bad idea in hydro. Seaweed is organic ;)

HPA DIY first system question/ newbie

True. I was only talking about your ability to set the max pressure on the pump and the pressure differential range. LOL That pressure reducer worked just fine for me. That is a single C99 plant grown with that reducer and 4 HPA nozzles. Stem was 2 1/8" in diameter at the base. Over 1200 gms...

    should I quit this girls??----rootrot

Ignore harry. He has no clue about aero. At all. Root rot is really tough to kill once it is establish, so you may well have to dump them all, but it is worth trying for a while longer I think. I have questions though. Are you recirculating or drain to waste? Either way, dump the rez and...

Please Help. Dwc and Ebb and Flow

Can you take some pics with the purple lights turned off? Just use your camera flash. Its hard to judge anything with that lighting. If your tap water starts at 350, then your only adding less than 100 PPM of nutes. Id suspect your tap water as the problem. Can you get a water report for your...

    UC Roots vs. HOCL 500

I would also question if it is actually HOCL in the bottle. Lots of reports of hand sanitizer with methanol in it for example. Lots of unethical profiteers out there.

HPA DIY first system question/ newbie

Yes. Thats exactly what I was saying above. The by-pass setting on the pump limits the max pressure the pump can reach - no matter what the pressure switch is set to. You may need to adjust both to get the range of pressures you want. For example, the by-pass could be set to 80 PSI, and even if...

    UC Roots vs. HOCL 500

Ok, I was confused by their product description. They claim it is a de-scaler with no mention of other uses. I had to find the MSDS to see its HOCL. There are some advantages to useing HOCL - mainly its not an irritant, and can be somewhat more effective, but chlorine bleach/shock is about...

HPA DIY first system question/ newbie

Yeah, the accumulator tank serves two purposes. The larger the tank, the less often the pump has to cycle, which means it will last longer. It also allows you to add the pressure reducer/regulator which means you can have a more uniform spray. The ideal condition in any HPA or AA grow would be...

HPA DIY first system question/ newbie

If you are talking about the pressure for the bladder inside the tank being set to 3PSI below the operating pressure, I agree. When you say the pressure switch is set to 100 PSI, is that the cut ON pressure - the pressure the pump turns ON at, or the pressure the pump turns OFF at? Im missing...

HPA DIY first system question/ newbie

Any cheap digital timer can run several solenoids ast the same time. Most of the timers can handle at least 10 amps, and most solenoids are about 0.5 amps, so you dont need a special controller. I use these cheap timers and run up to 4 solenoids per timer. They can handle as many as 20 of the...

    UC Roots vs. HOCL 500

Im confused. Why is there some debate over UCroots vrs bleach/shock? They are two completely different products that do two completely different things. They are not interchangeable in any way. UCroots is a de-scaler for preventing/removing scale build up from nute salts, hard water, etc...

    Help!! Day 96 Auto

First, fix the PH problem. It doesnt look all that bad to me, so they should recover easily. As far as the plants being too close to the lights, Google "super cropping". It will stunt the growth to some degree, but thats better than getting burned by the lights. It wont hurt to thin out some...

Thats more likely due to calcium hardness in your water. Mine is the same way. Chlorine at the PPM levels we use doesnt change PH to any significant degree.
