My first grow, pls give suggestions

I'll get a cheap soil test kit, which I neglected to do.

My first grow, pls give suggestions

Some had the burned end look of potassium deficiency, perhaps. They got removed earlier though. Diagnosing with Google images is kinda like googling medical symptoms, I'll think my plants have cancer soon. If it is potassium, I have wood ash from our fire place. Both the stuff that is in there...

My first grow, pls give suggestions

Lux in the sun is 100k for a few hours a day. 50k under the lights. One is looking like the new leaves have a different colour. Is this an expression or am I burning newly forming leaves?

My first grow, pls give suggestions

Hey all This is my first grow. Started on the 8th, from seed. They got stretchy for lack of proper light and humidity has been 60% at best. Fixed the light issue, reburied a few. I'm using dirt from an old beaver dam, that looks to me like super rich soil. Grows things like peas fast an...

Seedlings - How much light and when? Too many different answers.

Meh, that Apollo looks cheap. It's 1$/w but has no listed lm/W and is primarily a blurple light. I intend to make a range of LED products, the lowest and cheapest will be like that Apollo, for less than a dollar a watt.

Seedlings - How much light and when? Too many different answers.

Thank you for the in depth reply. Did use some cfls I had laying around for a bit, but they were kinda crappy and half the usual size. The marijuana God's must have been smiling at me this week. I came up with the cash to get 240W of bridgelux cobs. Should be enough to grow two good or three OK...

Seedlings - How much light and when? Too many different answers.

I put the lights within inches and repotted a few. Readings were 19k+ lux One immediately stretched up again, but others didn't. Here's a picture of the leafiest one and the thickest stem one The thick stem one has more roots hands down, but less foliage..

Old t5 light diffuser plastic, useful?

I have some of that rough feeling, clear plastic light diffuser stuff from a t5 light fixture. Does anyone know if it's at all efficient to diffuse your light with this stuff, or am I about to turn my cobs into incandescents by doing this? Thanks!

Seedlings - How much light and when? Too many different answers.

Thank you for the reply and some Canadian shopping experience. I guess I'll try to mainline these and get to ordering more cobs asap.

Seedlings - How much light and when? Too many different answers.

I'll move the lights down really close tomorrow and keep an eye for any immediate signs of stress. Or perhaps just put a booster under a Guinea pig plant and see how it does.before moving the light closer to the rest. Will dropping my ambient temperature slow their rate of growth? I'm...

Seedlings - How much light and when? Too many different answers.

I'm aware lux is just good for relative intensity and light spread, not actual ppfd. I'm using a NOMA 4ft, 27W 5000k "daylight" 3000 lumen bar and a "lights of America"? 40W 5000k, 4000 lumen. They are just shy of 6" from top of plants. Providing an average of 11,000 lux. When the sun from the...

Photo of my star pupil. Perhaps just the most Darwinian of them and I'm just clueless. :p

Seedlings - How much light and when? Too many different answers.

So I started some seedlings on the 8th (11 days ago) and the best of them has it's Cotyledons and two sets of leaves, is about 4" tall. I'm asking the same question as a million before me, I know... but only because so many have asked and answered, I'm getting too many search results and...

Graphene coated LED and OLED - the future?

    Only those? No bridgelux?

    First grow, first two questions

    1) They got a bit leggy before getting enough light and some were planted too shallow. Can I bury them another half an inch in dirt like a tomato? 2) I'm growing from seed. Got some that are losers but I don't wanna toss a female by accident. This one however has very rippled leaves compared to...

Graphene coated LED and OLED - the future?

Nice. Well here in CanadEH our leds are expensive. I got an led garage light that is 110 lm/W for 1$/w after tax and felt lucky. Those philips bulbs were 6$, my 27w garage light was 28$ after tax and does a nice 5k

Graphene coated LED and OLED - the future?

I just dissected a Philips 7W filament LED bulb that produces 800 lumens with the frosted glass bulb on. About 114lm/W for a cheap, off the shelf bulb that is 4000k or 5000k color. From what I read, graphene coated LED filaments are a thing and they are efficient. Not sure if this one is, but...

    Hps ballast question

I found some cobs that are cheaper and more efficient than eb strips and in stock! I'll toss this garbage, stick with my 250w hps and wait to get those
