Well, based on the lumen footprint my current HPS has about 55.000 lumens( i have used it for 6 month in the past, so it could emit less than that) if i place it at about 1ft away from the canopy of my babes. If i added another 400w HPS, the optimal lumen footprint would be about 100-110.000...

Could you please tell me why you believe it is overkill? It would be too much in terms of heat or in terms of light intensity?
