Mine have because I put down a coco mat. Next time I will cut the mat into pieces just a little bigger than the RW cubes I use.

Not at homedepot. Your local nursery may carry them if not you could get them over net and have them shipped.

You'll want to calibrate it and your ppm/tds/ec meter every month. No use taking the readings if it is not calibrated. You may even do more harm than good if you drop the pH too low because of a poorly calibrated instrument.

I use Botanicare's line up and have had no problems and the price is right. The numbers for both of those seem high. As a first time grower go with Botanicare and it will be less hassle and less chance of nute burning your plants.

I use Grodon plugs. I clone in neoprene discs and then move to plugs which I put into larger RW blocks. If you put them straight into the hydroton you may need some extra support if you are going with any height. Lollipop seems like it would work without support, maybe.
