    Dr. Greenthumbs Chemdog w/Amazon LED

@BMWEATER: What light cycle did you use for veg? What are the measurements of your cabinet? (LxWxH) Which of the nutrients did you use for veg, and which for flower? Did you top the plant? What was the wet weight? Thanks! D.

    RFI from digi/electronic ballast

Would be much simpler to make a very simple Faraday cage around the ballast I think.

    Big or little carbon filters

How about a third option: Buy 20 pounds of activated carbon granules for $10 and refill your filter.

Powering on 10 x 250w at once from one socket.

I don't know in how many different ways I can answer the same question :/

Looks good, try it and let us know how it went.

The kill a watt are averaging over a long of time. you'll need a good Fluke or an oscilloscope to see these spikes

But you don't know if the fuse will blow. Again, the Amperage is not only parameter that is important. It is also important for how long this amperage will flow in the component, be it the wires, fuses, circuit breakers or LED driver. Nothing burns instantly. If the inrush current will be above...

Powering on 10 x 250w at once from one socket.

Sounds like a dream grow room! I've been thinking about doing something similar, but including water and even nutrients also with some reservoirs and pumps. Automate everything. Do you have a thread where you are posting updates? I would love to follow!

I see some relays and a raspberry pi too? Looks like an interesting project you got there! :)

Powering on 10 x 250w at once from one socket.

The electricity trips for reason, or actually 2 reasons. The first is to prevent electrocution, the second is to prevent fires. Wires heat up when electricity flows through them. The thicker the wire, the less its resistance, the less it warms up. If you try to push more than 16A on 16A wires...

Powering on 10 x 250w at once from one socket.

According to the datasheet the inrush current is 60A. I can't open the inrush current limiter link. What I think you should do is hire an electrician to change the circuit breakers C, and make sure your infrastructure can handle those currents. Then those 3000 series activated sequentially 1...

Powering on 10 x 250w at once from one socket.

Read again, Type C is slow. Type B is fast. The safest course you can take on your own without hiring an electrician will be to use a timer for each driver and delay them for example one minute from each other.

And yes, many times in life we are faced with a dilemma: Do we do things properly and safely, OR do we do them cheaply. When it comes to electricity smart people will choose the first option. Which are you going to choose?

Powering on 10 x 250w at once from one socket.

It's not only about the wattage, it's about timing. Most houses have type B breakers which are fast to break to circuit to prevent electrocution. Type C breakers are common in industry where inductive loads (like motors for example) can use 8 times their working current for a milisecond when you...

k0ijn, As a former plant biologist (current med student) I'm frustrated with the lack of rigorous peer-reviewed knowledge, and the prevalence and spreading of myths even by authority figures with decades of experience. I'd love to start a consortium that'll study transcriptomes & metablomoes of...
