if you dont want you plant to get too tall why dont you lst it. this would stop vertical growth for the most part and would give you more bud sites that are exposed to direct light.

well the little hairs should be about 75%amber all over the plant. amber meaning a redish brown color. then you cut and let dry but you should look that up as well. it can be a very long and difficult process as well

yah man like fuzzy said though, study study study. i had read for a year on growing before i actually started. now you don't have to get that extreme but you have to know the basic need of you plants and the different problems that can occur.
