I would go by the trichs. Some plants will put out a lot of new pistils, all the way to the end, last ditch effort to get pollinated and all. Once you chop, within a day, those hairs will turn colors.

It would have to be pretty big to be worth keeping for hash. If it was me, I'd pitch it and start again. If you only have room for one plant, you might want to consider buying a feminized seed - this way, you know it'll be female, all you have to worry about is growing her.

Yep, leave your leaves on. They are what collects the energy from the light, and removing them will just kill your bud growth. Trust me, I'm not parroting others, I found out this one the hard way. Whatever leaves she doesn't need, she'll drop all on her own.
